the harsh facts of death and health costs

Post by sprintcyclist » Fri Apr 23, 2010 11:24 am

Harsh fact of life - DEATH. Everything that comes to life on this planet WILL die.
Harsh fact of health costs - 50% percent of health expenditure is made in last six months of life.
Harsh fact of health - between aged 7 and 55, very little is needed for health expenditure.
Conclusion: providing health services for dying population wastes money.
Right Wing is the Natural Progression.

Could not agree more.

The two things standing in the way of euthanasia laws are religious tards and the fucking corrupt filth that is the medical industry.

Just like priests, doctors prey on the fears of the cowards and idiots who have been unable to come to terms with their own mortality. And just like priests, they just love to play the caaaring and compaaasionate card. The "trusted" family doctor. Be very, very suspicious of any profession which tries to portray an image of trustworthiness & altruism. Doctors are scum. They don't go to med school because they love their fellow man. They do it because they love money, power and prestige. If they had a shred of integrity they would never accept cash and gifts from pharmaceutical companies to push their drugs, and there would be no such thing as off-label prescribing. They would simply follow the science and prescribe accordingly. But they don't and that's because they are greedy, corrupt scum. Did I mention that already?

The mother of a friend of mine is in hospital right now. She has advanced dementia along with a host of other hideous physical afflictions. Has literally days or weeks left. She got an infection in her legs recently and guess what! The doctors wanted to AMPUTATE BOTH HER FUCKING LEGS! At the age of 87 and with no hope of recovering from her other ailments! fluffy bunnies.

If I contracted a terminal illness, there is no way in hell I would hand myself over to a doctor in order to eke out every last minute of existence. That is because the doctor's only concern would be to eke out every last dollar from me (or rather the public purse) and to hell with my quality of life in the interim. I would do what I could to look after myself, and when quality of life had IMO run out, I would then call stumps. The medical profession will get precious little cash from me and others like me when we check out.

They don't want the option of a peaceful, dignified exit to be available to people because it is not good for business. They want us to suffer a long, agonising, expensive exit so that they can buy a bigger boat.

I tend to agree, up to the "doctors are scum" part. Forcing people to go it alone when wanting to die with dignity is a travesty.
"But you will run your fluffy bunny mouth at me. And I will take it, to play poker."

Sprint claims to have assessed, on behalf on all those who have a legitimitate stake on health expenditure (ie all taxpayers), the relative value judgements on states of health.

By Sprint's utility scale, a 'vegetable' living 50 years, is worth more than the greatest artist living 6 months.

Wow sprint. I think you have figured it all out. Now all we have to do is stop paying people's healthcare 6 months before they die. Let's hope the paperwork isn't too troublesome.

If this mother explicitly told her power-of-attorney that, even if she lost her mental faculties, that she wanted to keep going even while they chopped off her limbs, then that is her decision, not taxpayers.

Everyone in this country has the capacity to determine the level of care that they receive. Dringy has every right to instruct his carers/attorneys to pull up stumps, as has anyone else to cling to life at all costs.

There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer's research. This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.
