Federal Election May 3rd
We've 5 weeks to go but I think Albo will get his second term. People are just too scared to consider nuclear power and that's what will sway things. I guess we'll see over the next few weeks.

Five weeks is a long time in politics, much may happen.Black Orchid wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 8:28 amWe've 5 weeks to go but I think Albo will get his second term. People are just too scared to consider nuclear power and that's what will sway things. I guess we'll see over the next few weeks.
The cost-of-living crisis is on mind of many Australians and that's where Peter Dutton should concentrate his campaign effort.
He shouldn't use words "nuclear power" and just talk about rising energy cost under Labor.

ABC Radio said today that Albo will form a minority Govt -
both main parties have only about 33% support.

I'd love to see Casanova Bowen gone and in jail.

Immigration will be an election issue:
https://www.noticer.news/record-high-in ... -arrivals/
Record 200,000 foreign students arrive in Australia in just one month
March 19, 2025
The Noticer
International student arrivals hit a new record high last month despite repeated promises from the Australian government that it would bring down numbers and reduce immigration in general.
According to the latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, 201,490 foreigners arrived on student visas in February, a 15% increase on the same month last year, and 10% more than the previous record set in February 2019 under the previous Coalition government.
The record arrivals come after the Labor pledged to reduce migration during the 2022 election campaign, only to preside over the arrival of about 1.5 million immigrants since the election in May last year, dwarfing its own migration forecasts.

Yeah and even though Labor are saying they are clamping down on foreign investment of existing residential property (for 2 years) to help ordinary Aussies buy their own homes guess what? Parents of foreign students are still allowed to buy up big for their kids.
Any foreigner will still be able to purchase new dwellings anyway because it apparently "encourages the supply of housing"
Immigration and energy/cost of living should be the only issues people need to hear about and not the usual BS about policies coming into effect years from now.

Third-party postal votes spark privacy risk warnings
Australians hoping to mail in their votes at the upcoming election have been warned about using postal vote applications sent by candidates or parties.
Though this practice is legal, the Australian Electoral Commission - which helps run elections and is the sole distributor of postal vote ballot papers - has said unsolicited application forms from third parties can put voters' privacy at risk and result in late votes.
Applications from political parties or candidates are sent to voters through SMS or in the mail, and sometimes use the same colours as the AEC's branding, which can also mislead voters.
