Telstra and Optus began switching off the ageing network in October, coinciding with harvest and bushfire seasons and prompting safety concerns among farmers.
A majority of grain producers reported a reduction in the quality of their mobile service, GrainGrowers' rural affairs manager Sean Cole told a Senate inquiry in Canberra on Wednesday evening.

6G is coming soon but 5G will surely last for 10 years or more?

In the part of country where I live mobile networks works about 95%, less then a kilometer away it is even more patchy.
The StarLink, pidgin messaging or smoke signaling is the way to go.

Mobile networks were made for cities not the country -
you're better off with a CB radio in the country -

Everything caters to the city mentality and needs.
People are like battery hens in their little high rise, high density units going "gobble gobble" through life.

I remember once only driving 20km North out of Geelong - a major regional city in Victoria -
and already there was no mobile phone coverage.
As I said - you need a CB radio in the country - at least that has emergency channels too.
There are 3 bands I believe:
27 MHz, plus a VHF band and a UHF band.

CB radio is also good in cities regarding traffic conditions.
But you only turn it on for that as most channels in the cities are full of endless blatherings of idiots and potty mouths.
Regional to Rural channels are quiet and the vast amount of talk is just responsible chit chat.
