Australian/France submarine deal.

Post by billy the kid » Tue Apr 28, 2020 12:58 pm

Like many, I am beginning to wonder about this multi billion dollar deal with France.
It has been reported that Australia has been considering pulling out of the deal as per the link below...
France earlier this year was reported as asking for a fifteen month extension for the deal....
Now, with covid 19 stats for France showing 128,000 cases and over 23,000 deaths, one wonders
just how long it will be before Australia gets any submarines....
The original deal from memory, included the submarines being built in Australia....
One has to ask if the $100 million we received from Chile recently for two of our old tubs will
actually be used as compensation for Australia pulling out of the deal...
Of course, we will never know will we, as the government will continue to keep
us in the dark and feed us mushrooms....aka bullshit...
Of course, the official line will be....inform the public on a need to know basis....
They don't need to know....so we don't need to tell them....
The original deal provided for the first sub to be acquired by 2030.....
That now seems a long way away.....
One has to wonder just how many of these "deals" between countries will now be
honoured/rescinded due to each countries budget deficits in fighting the virus.....

I'm sick of hearing about these useless and soon to be obsolete submarines lol

We need to break that ridiculous deal and waive any clauses to compensate France by reneging. The present climate gives us the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Unfortunately it appears the French are the only ones apart from the Swedes, the Germans and the Japanese to still be producing conventionally powered submarines. Without a dramatic change in politics, nuclear submarines are off the table. They are hideously expensive and would require creation of new industries for us to fuel and maintain them. Their acquisition would distort our defence budget. Those are effects that few people appear to consider. Unless you want to acquire Russian submarines, they are off the table. The US does not lease/rent it's submarines to anybody. Moan as much as you like. Until another option occurs, they will not be acquired. :roll :roll

And Chinese subs are already mapping the sea floor around Australia in preparation for the BIG INVASION!!!!

Has any of the Australian Collins subs ever fired a shot in anger ?

The only creeps who are opposing the nuclear industry in Australia are the nauseating Greenies who oppose ANY sort of industry as their AGENDA 2030 plan for Australia is a primitive multi-cultural cesspool with NO industry at all.

With viruses running wild amongst the primitive multi-cultural cesspool serfs.
