Fake jobs created.

The message from those managing the economy could not be more clear — jobs are being created and the economy is strong.
Key points:
Some economic data show domestic private sector demand is falling, with the public sector holding up the economy
Economists say around eight out of 10 jobs created over the past year have been in the public sector
The Government says the ABS figures are not an accurate measurement of public sector jobs growth
"When we came to government, unemployment was at 5.7 per cent," Treasurer Josh Frydenberg told the ABC last month.
"Today it's at 5.2 per cent. We've created 1.3 million new jobs."
Moreover, it mainly is not businesses creating employment at the moment. Over the past 12 months,
eight out of 10 new jobs have been in the public sector.
In other words, the Government is literally creating most of the jobs directly.
"So the quarterly ABS data on employment growth by industry and sector shows that in the past 12 months you've seen
310,000 jobs created in the public sector,
while only 54,000 have been created in the private sector,"
UBS economist Carlos Cacho said.

I agree with Bobby. A government job is almost always a drag on the economy. Many government jobs are necessary, but they are nothing to brag about in employment statistics.

Re: Fake jobs created.
AND of course, the government will not tell us what percentage of these jobs are only temporary or part time.
They will however, brag about how great a job they are doing by creating all these jobs....its all bullshit...
OF course, they also wont tell us how many of these jobs have been created for the appeasement of minority
groups...we all know who Im referring to....
HENCE the wonderful benefits of diversification recruitment, which ensures that all minority groups are catered
for, but doesn't necessarily mean that the best applicants get the jobs....
MORE appeasement for minority groups.....

Don't forget that the Public Sector includes Teachers, Healthcare workers, Police Officers, Firefighters, Postal workers, etcetera. Too many people think Public Sector only means the shiny bums in Government Offices.

Re: Fake jobs created.
I dont think the federal government can take credit for jobs created say in the Victoria Police Service, or the
Qld Fire Brigade...these are state jobs created by state governments....
But of course if they can they will.....
BTW I have worked in the Cwealth PS and the State PS....I know how the system works......

Re: Fake jobs created.
I did for 10 years, what else is there to do in Canberra? Must say I was glad to retire. There are some lazy dumbos in the Public Service. I recall one guy I worked with who came in most mornings saying "I'm exhausted" and sticking his feet up on the desk. He had, apparently, organised his kids and run then to school. My comment was, "Why exhausted? The day hasn't even begun, yet".

Re: Fake jobs created.
The job creation statistics are as rubbery as the unemployment rate.....
If a government department abolishes a position here...a position there...they abrogate by stealth...
The result is privatization.....those jobs which have been abolished, saving the government money, are now
performed by private enterprise as a result of the outsourcing....
Is this "creating jobs"....
Well...no...its substituting one job for another....
BUT the government will tell us that they are brilliant, as they are reducing the size of the public
service......and then in another press release, they will take the credit for the "new jobs" theyve
created......and then suddenly they will pat themselves on the back because theyve created a job
or three for minority groups.....
ITS all bullshit........
