My grandmother always said -

"if the Chinese thought they could get away with it -

they'd invade us tomorrow. :

I think we could put that airport out of action in five minutes or so!

Why would they invade Australia when it is so much cheaper to buy the resources we are willing to sell them?

The usual "yellow peril" scare mongering. Nothing new here at all. The Chinese are simply another group of investors. Just as the Poms and the Yanks and the Japanese were before them. As Joh used to say about Japanese investment in the 1980s, "Why the worry, they aren't going to put the land in their back pockets and take it back to Japan with them?" In reality, all the Chinese get is some money making venture. We ultimately still own the land, we can resume their control of it any time. They have no extra-territorial rights at all.

I don't own any farmland. If I did and they offered me sufficient money, I'd sell it to them, in a flash. I am not afraid of Chinese ownership. Not sure why you are, except perhaps some hang over from your days as a Cold War Warrior.

You are also not a patriotic Australian and couldn't give a damn about Australians for Australian jobs. You prefer to sell off our land to foreigners who employ imported labour which results in the loss of regional business. You are a disgrace.

It is not in Australia's interests to sell off our farm land to foreign nationals.

The Labor (originally Labour - when they could spell) Party was founded by communists. The unionists who run the ALP want to extort employers under the guise of workers' benefits just so they can stick it up and swindle those with initiative. The Fabians who own the ALP want to substitute democracy with neo-monarchism and pseudo aristocracy under banner of 'socialism'.

Labor being both covert and overt communists used to suck up to Russia/USSR, but USSR fell over and the iron curtain blew away, so now they suck up to China/PRC.

My overtly communist union rep grandfather's heros were Lenin and Mao.
He even did a tour of Russia (in the 70s) just so he could tell everyone how good it was.

Communists don't care how they get control. All that matter is that they do get control, and you do as you are told.
If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?

Paul Keating said "Australia doesn't need farmers" then invested in pig farms in a Muslim nation - Malaysia.

China does not employ "imported labour", Black Orchid. Australians will be employed to run these facilities. They will be under Chinese direction - exactly as American, British and Japanese investments are under their nationals direction. Afterall, it is their property, they get to determine what it is going to do or be used.

Unlike you, I don't resort to emotion laden rhetoric. I have made clear I am an Australian patriot - I served for 10 years in the Australian Army. What exactly have you done to demonstrate your patriotism again, Black Orchid? Mmmm?
