Lets make a list of bad short term decisions they have made that have damaged Australia and they should be held accountable for .

I have said this before and perhaps it is the only way. Start an Australia wide class action against the politicians who have consistently lined their pockets to the detriment of Australia and its people.

Make them pay.

Great idea. Politicians salaries will go up to $10 million pa, partly to cover the $9 million pa liability insurance.

No you cannot and should not.

what is bad decision for you may benefit someone.

Every decision has a risk and they were elected... so it is the peoples fault.

They are held accountable only in that we can not re-elect them.

We need more people with real world experience outside the proffessioal polly to get elected.... but think about it, those that are capable would prefer to make their millions in private enterprise and sponsor lobby groups to get what they want. After the Trump experiement, people may not go for them anyway.

I would prefer a person with some politically incorrect stuff in their past (not sexual) who can run a major setup with a vision, than some of these numpties in office. I want a dopey smoking ex-hippy who cleaned up their act, travelled the world and made his/her millions with a long term vision to get the job.

they would of course all have an insurance to cover anything like that... and GUESS WHO WOULD PAY FOR IT?...

the only way is to vote them out....how we do that is another conundrum.

Why would someone who has made millions want a job that only pays a few hundred grand at best, but demands more than any private sector work?

I had this very same idea in the 2000s .... I called it 'Poetic Justice'.

So to get that list started, I'd like to nominate Paul Keating 1st on the list for his compulsory superannuation ponzi scam.
Which I've always regarded as govt sanctioned theft.
If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?

And that's the problem ... they can knowingly or unwittingly make a bodgey decision and everybody else has to suffer the consequences.
I have long thought that if pollies could be held personally financially responsible for their actions, they'd think twice for enacting another scam.

Take for example Kevin Rudd's 'Pink batts' scheme ... it killed people, yet he's now out playing statesman.
