this is a first..
A FORMER Iraqi war captain who says he cannot work because of “invisible” mental injuries sustained in two wars — on top of a bad back — has lost an appeal to claim a disability support pension.
His failed bid is one of a string of recent appeals by Centrelink claimants arguing they deserved the pension, despite being medically ruled healthy enough to work.
These include the case of a man who spends his days gaming online, watching movies and sleeping, who argued he had poor concentration skills.
Raad Al-Saad, from Western Sydney, argued “obsessive ruminations” caused by being an army officer in the Iraq/Iran and Iraq/Kuwait wars, prevented him from working.
Mr Al-Saad provided a GP’s report to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal stating he had obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and musculoskeletal pain.
wow this will upset all those lefties who think pensions are everyones right!
let him claim a pension from the Iraqi govt... its them that did it...

just sayin.
