Bye Bronnie...

Post by Rorschach » Sat Aug 01, 2015 9:45 am

Well, honestly this Speaker stuff just goes on and on.
If Slipper had to go and he was quite a good speaker (unlike Bronnie) then she should definitely go.
There's no hiding the fact that this push by the ALP is just to get rid of her as Speaker and her record does point to quite a bias on her behalf, but then there are ALP members including Tony Burke who should pull there heads in because they rort the system too.
Here's hoping that once and for all someone has the guts to get rid of the trough they all dip their snouts in... but don't hold your breath.

My pick... Phil Ruddock for Speaker, a measured and fair man if ever there was one with many years of experience.
DOLT - A person who is stupid and entirely tedious at the same time, like bwian. Oblivious to their own mental incapacity. On IGNORE - Warrior, mellie, Nom De Plume, FLEKTARD

Bronnie should retire ... she is way past retirement age. I imagine that she would NOT want to be forced to retire though. What will she do when she retires? Spend more taxpayer's money, like the rest of them?

Most of these politicians are quite wealthy when they retire yet they continue to feed off the lowly taxpayer just because they can. Bishop is a greedy old woman who should have moved aside years ago to let someone younger take her place. Her sense of entitlement and superiority no longer fits in with politics.

People who become politicians often begin because they want to HELP people and do good for their Electorate. They usually soon get the "sugar hit". "Free money".

I certainly do NOT consider Politicians part of the Upper Class or even "rich" as such. They have a sense of "Do you KNOW who I am?" about them.

As I have said on numerous occasions ... I have never seen a real live Federal Politician in Canberra ... they don't live here.

She messed up, got caught and now she needs to 'pay the piper'.

I agree with Phillip Ruddock being a good choice.

Cleaning them up has to start somewhere. Why give others justification for following in her foot steps and assuming they won't get caught?

I don't care what side they come from. If they get caught they need to be made an example of.

Plenty of others have been caught before Bishop.
Why do you think she needs to be made an example of, when Shorten just got caught with his hand in the cookie jar 8 years ago and only decided to own up after he saw the evidence the RC was going after?

Then you have Bowen, Burke etc...

Slipper was made an example of over $900 and was forced to resign. Someone needs to be made a scapegoat so this won't happen again with anyone.

Abbott didn't think twice about getting rid of Ruddock either. It looked as though he was booted out because of his age and slowness and you could tell he was very upset at the time. Why should Bishop be spared when she has even less to offer to politics than Ruddock? She might be Abbott's good mate - but that's not a logical excuse.

Who cares when or where they get caught. Both sides need cleaning out. It has to start somewhere and maybe in time we might get some pollies who actually have our interests at heart instead of their own.
