Introducing....
The church of Global Warming, and it's divine leader, Tim Flannery.
The above is a photo of Tim Flannery (climate cult leader) taken from the now deleted ABC Late Line video (
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2005-06-11/f ... ng/1590650) of an ABC Lateline interview between Maxine McKew and Tim Flannery back in 2005.
How embarrassing, no wonder the ABC has gone to great lengths to ensure all memory of this video and it's kook in cult-leader garb ceased to exist.
This is the image of Tim Flannery the ABC would like us to forget, as they set about re-inventing his image with a more, "Australiana country" look, complete with akubra hat.

Tim Flannery is old news. We now need to be convinced that climate change doesn't exist - so while all of us have to tighten our belts and the economy goes down the gurglar - Abbott is going to throw $4 million dollars at a foreigner who will convince us that we need to do nothing about it. Disgusting and out of sync with the rest of the world. Abott is - and always will be, a cowboy.
Australian taxpayers funding climate contrarian's methods with $4m Bjørn Lomborg centre
Danish political scientist and climate change contrarian Bjørn Lomborg says the poorest countries in the world need coal and climate change just isn’t as big a problem as some people make out.
Australia’s Prime Minister Tony Abbott says “coal is good for humanity” and there are more pressing problems in the world than climate change, which he once described as “crap” but now says he accepts.
So it’s not surprising then that the latter should furnish the former with $4 million of taxpayer funds to start an Australian arm of Lomborg’s Copenhagen Consensus Centre (CCC) at the University of Western Australia’s business school.
The CCC has consistently said that targets to cut greenhouse gas emissions are too expensive and money should be spent elsewhere
After a couple of weeks of doubt and confusion over the origins and the funding of the centre,
latest reports suggest that the idea came from the Prime Minister’s office.

It seems, the product that is "Global Warming" has been difficult to sell.
How many times will Tim Flannery and the ABC reinvent his image I wonder?
And at what cost to the public tax-funded ABC.

I've never thought much of Flannery. He was the wrong choice for the job and not on top of his subject, but I think getting a foreigner in - when so many research scientists have been sacked is a kick in the face for Australians, especially when his views are so contrary to the mainstream population. This is not a good decision by Abbott.

The majority of Australians remain sceptical re- Global warming re-badged, aka "Climate Change" after having been drip-fed pseudo-climate science from the likes of Tim Flannery and the Labor governments cherry-picked climatologists for the past decade.
I think a fresh approach is what's required, and also think Tony Abbott has our nations best interests at heart.
He cares about the world his children, and their children stand to inherit after all... though could the same be said for Gillard?

Abbott is like all the others when he gets to the trough. He might care about his children's world - but certainly not anyone else's world - or their children.
This is not a fresh approach. This is a possible nuclear stance and a move to please the coal industry only.

Mantra, do you recall when Czar Tim Flannery seemed troubled by the notion that "Climate Change" could pose a threat to Chinese communism?
Hmmm....

It seems our Agenda 21 pro-communist climate Nazi has lost the plot.
Since when did a paleontologist (the study of dinosaur bones) with a farts degree become an expert in climate studies anyway?
No surprises there.

And Mantra, you're anti-Abbotting is becoming pathological.
Not every topic is or should be about Tony Abbott on PA.

......
Now getting back to Flannery, the title of this thread after all.

Mel - I rarely post in politics anymore. Don't try and offend me to score points. If you had read any of my comments about Abbott lately - you would see that I haven't got a strong anti-Abbott stance, but I don't like the fact that he's cut off funding to so many Australian scientists. He is happy to throw money at a foreigner who can't get a job in any other country. He doesn't care about us. Look at the contract he's made with the Japanese for our submarines. If that $20 billion was being churned back into our economy - think of the employment it would create.

There is only so much you can say about Flannery's new wardrobe. Sorry for disrupting your thread, but you did post it in politics. Get the moderators to move it to Off Topic.
