Tax Reform
Before the Government. (Any Government). Looks to hit the general populace with "new and improved" taxes, it first better look to the existing ones and make sure all the loopholes are closed and fairness is paramount.

Re: Tax Reform
That would be a novel idea for any government. Maybe they could start with the corporations who continue to use their $2 companies to squirrel away billions and avoid paying any tax? That loophole should have been closed decades ago. A good start would be to collect the 30% tax on the recent tab of $46 billion hidden in shelf companies which equates to roughly $15 billion for Treasury coffers. Then there are those paupers sitting in their multi million dollar homes collecting a pension paid for by the workers who often don't even have their own home. Same goes for the self funded retirees - they want their hand out too. There are many ways Treasury could collect more taxes by starting at the top and working their way down - instead of the other way around.Rorschach wrote:Before the Government. (Any Government). Pickering has a few words to say about "multinationals".

Classic example of left wing jealousy coupled to ignorance of the Australian tax system, probably exasperated by fuckwits like the Greens and the Tax justice network.mantra wrote:That would be a novel idea for any government. Re: Tax Reform
I think there is a very good argument about fixing loopholes and making the system fairer for all before increasing taxes.
