Good riddance to the man who gave us Multiculti, whose senility in later years turned him into a puppet of the Greens and the Progressive Left.

I am not sure why all the news channels yesterday were referring to it as a "shock death". He was turning 85 in a few weeks. That's a good long life. Not to be callous but that's what old people do. They pass on.

I saw it listed (in several threads) over at OzPol yesterday and was waiting for someone to post it here. Nobody did, so I figured the poor old bloke should be remembered at PA, he was one of our Prime Ministers, after all, whether you liked him or not.

Yes, 84 is a fine age and apparently he hadn't been sick, so it was just his "time".

Canberra Times has several bits about him.

Even something about the Fraser's former Canberra home being on the market.

I think the shock bit was it wasnt expected, anyway as you thats a good long life.

I disliked the man intesely for years after the Whitlam /Kerr affair but recognised his humanitarism in later life.

"Sudden death" would be more apt maybe? Passing on at almost 85 isn't really a shock.

Ditto.
My sentiments exactly.

Malcolm's best years were dragging killing Gough before he destroyed the country.

He should have died around 1981. He offered nothing since then.

R.I.P Malcolm,

I don't remember what he did after the double disillusion that led to Whitlam's dismissal.

To die suddenly at an advanced age without illness? If only we all should be so fortunate. Recently here in the States there was a 49 year old female news reporter who dropped dead suddenly while on the job. Everyone called it tragic. I didn't see anything tragic at all about it. She died without pain doing what she loved. Had she suffered with breast cancer for 8 years before dying from the effects of chemo and radiation ...yeah, I'd call that tragic.
