Spent $2Bn (TWO FUCKING billion of our dollars) on govt advertising! HUGE fucking amount!
The Sunday Age investigation has also shown that since the last election in 2004, Mr Howard has spent a record $850 million of taxpayers' money on government advertising

Question is, was Howard spending this kings ransom to get back in to power or was he spending it to reward his media mates? Enquiring minds want to know!
SerfChoices advertising got a LOT of taxpayers money
Millions of dollars was splashed on advertising in the final years of the Howard government with little contractual control over how it was being spent, an auditor-general's report says.
More than $11 million was spent by agencies preparing the Work Choices campaign aimed at spruiking the new industrial laws in 2005 and in 2007 before contracts were actually executed.

I thought that this was going to be about ex pms spending on the public purse- saw an article about that the other day, and Howard topped that too.
The amount of publicly funded advertising under Howard always seemed exorbitant to me, so this figure comes as no surprise. I don't know how he could have wasted so much public money on what appears to have simply been efforts to stay in power and persuade the public to accept his policies.

Hmmm desperate,. . .or resigned and wanting his scummy media mates like Murdoch to get as nice big heaping helping of tax payers money as a rewad for sticking up for him even when his lies etc were clearly that.
