Abbott's fraud and hypocrisy

Post by mantra » Tue Oct 08, 2013 1:18 pm

Abbott was the first person to condemn Peter Slipper for the cabcharge affair and yet look at the rorting done by him and his minions. Slipper has to go before the Courts and could possibly end up with gaol term, not that anyone cares, but the same charges should be laid against Abbott and his thieving ministers. Slipper wasn't allowed to pay the money back - Abbott was.

Is this supposed to be our new honest Prime minister? What a joke and what a petty thief he's turned out to be. Do as I say he cries - not do as I do. First to condemn someone else while he's stealthily slipping his fingers into the wallets of the taxpayer.
TONY Abbott claimed close to $1300 in expenses to attend an Ironman triathlon in Port Macquarie in 2011.

It has been revealed that the Prime Minister claimed flights and accommodation to attend the event in the NSW coastal town two years ago.

Mr Abbott's official expenses claim to the Department of Finance states he charged the taxpayer $941.10 in flights from Brisbane to Port Macquarie on November 5 and then on to Sydney the following day.

A total of $349 in travelling allowance to cover accommodation was also claimed.

The fresh claim comes in the wake of revelations that Mr Abbott charged the taxpayer to attend the weddings of former speaker Peter Slipper and former Liberal MP Sophie Mirabella in 2006.

He paid back the expenses for both claims to the taxpayer.

Abbott's making a lot of enemies. From the same article......
"During the last term of parliament people must have noticed the way in which the Coalition really went after Peter Slipper who is now facing the courts over a claim that is much less than the money that has had to be paid back on numerous occasions it would appear," Mr Albanese told ABC radio.

"I think that anyone who looks at the circumstances of one person being allowed to pay back and one person being before the courts for a very similar type of incident would draw the conclusion that Peter Slipper feels as though there has been unequal treatment.

Mr Slipper yesterday hit out at the Prime Minister saying it was the upmost "hypocrisy" that Mr Abbott simply paid back his error in expenses but in his own claim of misuse he was taken to court.

Mr Slipper is facing a full court hearing later this year after he was charged with claims he misused Cabcharge dockets to tour Canberra wineries in 2010 at a cost to the taxpayer of almost $1200.

Mantra. Try to remain cool, calm and collected! The World is not about to disintegrate.

Your head will not explode if some pollie's departmental staff was lax in "disapproving" some travel arrangements and consequent "receipts".

TONY ABBOTT does NOT book his own travel arrangements ... they all have staff that does that ... all he does is throw down the "receipts" on his return and SOMEBODY ELSE does the paperwork.

I think that Tony Abbott had no idea of what he has been "charged" for/with. He had somewhere to "go" and somebody else arranged it all. That's the way it happens.

Still , the leftards are so inept that they have to TRY to find something to complain about after 6 years of leftard WASTE OF MONEY .......

Well done.

:du

Look... if Abbott is guilty of the same thing Slipper is, he'll end up in court... end of story. But he won't because it isn't. It's obvious DOLTS, that these sorts of things have been going on for a long while and mistakes honest and maybe not so honest have occurred. It is time then that the procedures etc be leaned up so there are no ambiguities and funnily enough The Greens have an idea that might be worthwhile looking at.

Looks to me like a lot of lies can be added to your list mantra.

I'd also suggest mantra... that unlike OZPOL we don't need lots of posts on the same subject... Aussie's one would have been enough on this subject.

Too bad.

Could you also provide a link and some information on where the Greens have rorted their expenses - or in fact any act of corruption or fraud on their part?

What are you on about?
The quote doesn't even mention the Greens.

BTW I already posted a link/article that specified that information. Either here or on OZPOL... of course if there weren't so bloody many topics about the same issue it'd be easy to find... so... in answer to your "Too Bad"

TOO bad... go find it yourself.

Your response mentioned the Greens....

So I asked you for a link.

This thread isn't the same as Aussie's. This is about Abbott's fraud and hypocrisy. I can't find anything very much either over on Ozpolitic - so as you won't justify your comments here, I'll have to assume you're lying again.

ONE Labor guy was found to have maybe claimed for TA etc he wasn’t entitled to.

Looks like fraudulent claims will ease Piss&Moan out the PM chair before Parliament even sits!
