Traditionally the trade portfolio is awarded to the Nationals when the Coalition is in government, but incoming deputy prime minister Warren Truss will instead be responsible for infrastructure and regional development.

Re: Tony Abbott's new ministry
Labor are at it already.... pushing the misogyny crap and the fact that the Coalition will not have as many ministers... mind you they pushed out Chris Bowen to have a go.
Are they expecting Albo to win and will they replace him with Bowen?
If Labor had their way there would be a Minister for Going to the Toilet.

Barnaby Joyce, who on Friday was elected as deputy Nationals leader, will take the portfolio of agriculture.
Other positions include;
Joe Hockey as treasurer,
Malcolm Turnbull as communications minister,
Peter Dutton as health minister,
Christopher Pyne as education minister,
Scott Morrison as minister for immigration and border protection,
Greg Hunt as environment minister.

Re: Tony Abbott's new ministry
Chris Bowen's losing the plot...
already saying this new government has a pattern of behaviour... Chris... they aren't even sworn in yet.
hard to develop a pattern as a government when you aren't the government yet.

Re: Tony Abbott's new ministry
Thanks Nef.
A more balanced comment on the preceedings than LW prog ranting.Abbott’s press conference was a remarkable and welcome break from the past six years. Purposeful, steady, no flash, no spin, no look-at-me lectures. The tone is exactly right. Very adult, very to-the-point. If ministers haven’t got the message as to what is expected of them I would be very, very surprised.
Just perform. Don’t big-note. Show with deeds, not words.
