Greenpeace blames Coke for Channel 9 'choke'
"We had no issue in taking the original booking from Greenpeace but on reviewing the content we deemed it to be offensive to our viewers and so advised the client we would not proceed with the placement on the Network," he said.
"We have refunded the original deposit."
Awww, don't want dead berds shown during our regular fix of biffo, do we.

Coca Cola Amatil has a monopoly over everything. They have almost drained the underground water supply in Mangrove Mountain, NSW, for their bottled water, a beautiful area which is costing the organic farmers and other small industry their livelihoods. Unfortunately Greenpeace hasn't got as much clout as they have. It is a David and Goliath battle. Aside from the litter created by their bottles, coke causes a myriad of health problems. Even the FDA bows down to them at our expense.
They aren't even an Australian company, yet they only pay $180 annually for a license allowing them to extract 25 million litres p.y. of spring water from this one particular area alone.

Get the ABC or SbS to run it, they are used to running propaganda.
There is no evidence whatsoever that plastic in the form of bottles or plastic bags is any threat to birds of sea life.
Commercial networks are allowed to make decisions in their best commercial interest. Greenpeace would hardly be on the list of big spenders.

Mantra's cigarette butts probably cause more problems for the environment/birds than plastic bags do.

No, no, they didn't censor it because it was inaccurate, or because it attacked one of their major sponsors... they censored it because their viewers would be offended, apparently

Maybe because their viewers would be able to see a bullshit greeny campaign for what it is. It offends me and it isn't even on tv.

Yes, but you're easily offended, unlike the average Aussie bloke, who watches the footy. Harden up, powder-puff

It can take plastic bottles anywhere from 450 to 1000 years to break down. The plastics that do biodegrade release toxic chemicals in the process. PET bottles will never biodegrade.
Sea life swallows plastic bags thinking they are jelly fish. Some swallow it by mistake and others get tangled up in it until they are maimed or suffocated. There is plenty of evidence that this 'plastic soup' we are turning our oceans into is extremely harmful to both the environment and our sea life. Things need to change.
