NSW Liberal premier signs up to Gonski reforms

This is a bit of good news for Gillard. Perhaps Abbott will intervene and demand Premier O'Farrell renege on the deal? Abbott claims the Gonski reforms are a waste of money and plans to dismiss them - or in this case if he is elected pm - he will have to repeal them.

PRIME Minister Julia Gillard has reached an agreement with NSW on the Gonski reforms.

The NSW government has become the first state to sign up to the federal government's Gonski reforms.

NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell said cabinet had made some "tough decisions" to fund its $1.7 billion share of the $5 billon deal.

It will be partly funded by the government's previously announced reforms to the TAFE sector, including the level of fees and subsidies which are currently being considered by IPART.

O Farrell must think Abbott is lying about reneging or he wouldn't have signed up for it. I agree,Phoney Tony will be furious with O Farrell.

O'Farrell is know for his bad decisions. He should be a member of the ALP along with Turnbull.

Not surprised he signed up to Gonski.

O'Farrell's short list of great ideas ...

Allowing recreational hunting in national parks
Winding back marine park protection
Opening the doors to uranium exploration
Opening the doors for Coal Seam Gas exploration
Approving the Maules Creek Mine, which will devastate the Leard Forest
Making political deals that reintroduce duck hunting
Making a NSW state law in favour of gay marriage if parliament fail to act

And now Gonski?

So you can explain what a "Gonski" involves then other than handing a big wad of cash to states that have ignored education in the past. What's it supposed to fund? What programs does it support?
