Labor has pledged to tackle truancy by banning children from playing weekend sport if they do not regularly attend school.
And in another measure targeting students, it has also promised to boost the school chaplaincy program to an additional 1,000 schools.
Labor has announced that if re-elected it would introduce the "No School No Play" program which would see children playing weekend sport commit to attending classes.
Minister for Sport Kate Ellis says the $2 million initiative will encourage students to value their education.

Fantastic way to tackle childhood obesity... I wonder how this "program" is going now?
Lets think about this....what are the leading causes of truancy again?
According to Labor, it's poor discipline and playing too much sport on weekends perhaps.
hmmmmm.
