there will be a lot of ignorant people voting too IQS from all over.

currently 56% against 44% for

speaking of deluded women... (apart from mantra that is)

apparently she thinks the problem is that Australians (must be men right) just aren't used to a female PM.

well I've got news for her.... not only are we used to the idea we are OVER IT!
Australians still getting used to female PM: Gillard
April 4, 2013 - 4:55PM
David Wroe

Nearly three years into her prime ministership, Julia Gillard has suggested Australia is still adjusting to having a woman as leader.

Addressing the Foreign Correspondent's Association in Sydney, Ms Gillard said she had experienced some ''uncomfortable moments'' but the path she has forged as Australia's first female prime minister will make it easier for future women. WRONG, after you Julia it may be a very long wait for the next one.

''It's not been ever the norm in our nation before for people to wake up in the morning and look at the news and see a female leader doing this job,'' she said on Wednesday afternoon.

''For all of the years before, you would see a man in a suit; I am not a man in a suit and I think that that has taken the nation some time to get used to - I think it is probably still taking the nation a bit of time to get used to. nah it's just we are waaaaaay over you.

''I think it's the same sort of journey that many nations around the world are on and it speaks really to the changing nature of our times and the forward progress for women in societies like ours. progressives... just can't recognise reality and regression.

''But it's got some uncomfortable moments along the way. (the Misogyny rant) There's no doubt about that and I feel one of the things that will certainly happen, having had the first female prime minister, is it's going to be easier for the second, and then it's going to be easier again for the third. naaaaaaaaaaaah

''And then everybody will get over it and forget about it and no one will even bother to comment any more.''

Ms Gillard's comments came in a question and answer session following a speech the Prime Minister delivered on the ''Asian century'' ahead of a five-day visit to China, where she will meet the country's new leaders.

Ms Gillard warned that the Asian century would inevitably entail ''difficult adjustments'' for Australia such as the high value of the dollar. This was ''now a feature of the economic landscape'' that would likely persist ''for some time''.

While acknowledging this was painful to some industries, Ms Gillard said Australia could continue to be an advanced, high-wage economy. She cited export-heavy Germany when it used the deutschmark, before the introduction of the euro, as a model.

Ms Gillard also attacked former prime minister John Howard for failing to fully seize the benefits of the early mining boom years. OMG she is mantra.

''The then-government had no plan for skills, no plan for infrastructure, and no plan for broadband,'' she said. ''I won't leave our nation similarly unprepared. As a result, we will win in the Asian century.''

Of her planned China trip, where she will meet new President Xi Jinping and new Premier Li Keqiang, Ms Gillard said the visit ''reflects the importance of our rapidly evolving relationship with China and our high-level political oversight of that relationship''.

She refused to comment on speculation that a currency deal with China to make it easier for Australian exporters might be delayed.

The trip will also focus on deepening defence and security ties and winning new markets for Australian industry.

She has had highly successfull tour of China.
Australia and China have formally committed to annual leadership talks, giving Canberra greater access than the superpower has granted virtually any other Western nation.

With countries across the world clamouring for the ear of the world's second largest economy, Prime Minister Julia Gillard has landed the foreign policy triumph of her leadership, agreeing to a strategic partnership with her Chinese counterpart, Premier and Prime Minister, Li Keqiang.

Under the agreement, annual meetings will take place between the prime ministers of the governments, an arrangement that exists as a formal process between China and only three other countries - Britain, Germany and Russia - as well as with the European Union.

Do what you bloody well like. You don't need my permission. This is a reasonable outline of her achievements

. Successfull negotiation to gain support to Govern form Windsor and Oakeshot:
. Successfull management of minority government...defying Abbott's boast that he would be in The lodge by Xmas 2011:
. Successfull passage of almost 500 Bills through Parliament:
. Mining tax:
. Plain packaging for cigarettes:
. Poker machine reform.....not to the extent Wilkie wanted:
. Post GFC, successfull management of the economy with Australia being the only one of 33 advanced economies to produce positive growth and avoid recession:
. A very strong economy:
. Australia has low inflation, low unemployment, comparatively low government debt and record levels of investment:

Action has been taken on climate change via the carbon tax with proceeds used to compensate consumers and develop renewable energy projects. The National Broadband Network roll out continues.

We have also seen the health reform package, implementation of the Houston Plan on asylum seekers, Australia gain a place as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council....

In education, major reforms have resulted in record numbers of students attaining university degrees, apprenticeships and traineeships.

Households which had already benefited from the stimulus package, have also seen the introduction of paid parental leave for both parents, the Schoolkids Bonus and an increase in the tax free threshold from $6,000 to $18,200 meaning one million of our poorest workers pay no tax at all.

Finally there have been record increases for pensioners and improvements in working conditions for lower paid workers under the Fair Work Act after the highly unpopular Workchoices was repealed.

Her government has a clear vision for the future and has begun to implement what will prove to be massive reforms for the nation’s future – the National Disability Insurance Scheme, the Gonski Report on Education and preparations to meet the opportunities of the Asian Century.
And now, we can add, breaking new and important ground with China.

All good.

;)

No chance of being PM
She is PM.
No Carbon Tax under a government I lead.
Forced upon her to enable her to lead Government.
East Timor processing Centre
Malaysia deal (killed by supreme court)
All because of a recalcitrant Abbott.
Guaranteed surplus we will not fail.... FAIL!
Her abandonment of that goal had wide-spread support.
Fix the MRRT... :rofl :rofl :rofl
It's there.
Labor Party lost direction.... oh dear it is still missing.
Mere rhetoric.
Factional hatreds
Ya get that, even in www Forums.
HSU debacle
Not of her making.
Slipper debacle
Much yet to be exposed. Might cost some very Senior Libs dearly.
AWU debacle
Media beat up. Old news......Nothing to see there.
Super promise not one jot not one tittle
Have no idea what you are referring to.
Asylum Seeker and Border protection... FAIL!
Again, put that at the feet of Abbott.
Cost of living rises due to impact of Carbon tax especially utilities.
Media bullshit. Mostly due to gold plating of infrastructure...beyond her control.
Loss of jobs, hundreds almost on a weekly basis.
Last time I looked, the unemployment rate in Australia was very acceptable and comparatively speaking, outstanding.
Propping up industries whilst they sack staff and close facilities.
Put that at the feet of the capitalists responsible for it.
pink batts
fuel watch
BER debacle
All part of the response to the GFC, and universally applauded.
