The Catholic Church did the same thing in California but in cahoots with the Mormon Church: the two churches engineered a "movement" against gay marriage in that state that had the appearance of broad popular support but in fact was not.
But don't take my word for it. See the movie:
Only a fool would take what is happening in France at face value. You are not a fool IQ so what is driving you? Are you a conservative Catholic?
I doubt too many people admit to being Catholic these days because they're ashamed of the Church's filthy secrets, but that doesn't mean they weren't indoctrinated by the RCC and follow their beliefs devotedly and that includes their hatred of gays.
What rubbish Mantra, the truth is, you get good and bad in all walks of life, irrespective of denomination.
The Labor party are only targeting the Catholic church at present, (as I told you they would) for opposition smear-tactile purposes, as a desperate last ditch ploy to turn the country against 'Catholicism' in the lead up to the next election, this and get back in bed with the otherwise non-Catholic Christian lobbies.
Her objective is to convince other denominations to side with Labor, (She has the threat of a royal commission into institutionalised abuse to wave over their heads if they wont oblige)... this and be the protestant who quite literally rings the bell as Abbott marches to hell.
Well, so she thinks.

At the risk of revealing why this will backfire, I will just say, if she succeeds, then this will wreck it for Shorten, he being a devout Catholic himself, this and who masterminded the rise and fall of both quasi-leaders, Gillard and Rudd, so I doubt he'll be willing to cut his nose off to spite his own face, so this will be a very self limiting smear-campaign, and the royal commission an absolute joke.
It's quite disgusting how they have gone to such lengths to meet their political objective. I feel for every victim who will be lead to think this government is serious about gaining them some closure, only to realise after the election the royal commission into instutional abuse was a sick pre-electoral stunt.

The truth is, Australians know a crook and a 'Fake' when they see one Mantra, this and know Gillards pseudo-ideals and 'deals' with respects to separation of church and state will go no further than the ballot boxes.
Demonising any given faith, be it Catholics, Muslims or otherwise for political advantage will only serve to substantiate what voters already think of her anyway.
Desperate, bigoted and spiteful.
An individual who will stop at nothing to meet their objective, even if this means insulting and hurting innocent people along the way for political advantage.

If a Gillard government was so sincere about stamping out institutional abuse, why wait until now ...and why wait until 2015 to do something about the outcome of an enquiry?
