Wong decision...

Post by Rorschach » Sun Oct 28, 2012 12:09 am

had this sent to me...
Typical ABC bias. Here is the SMH version of the dumping of Penny Wong down the Senate Ticket:

Wong's defeat splits ALP

October 27, 2012 - 3:24PM Jessica Wright

The Labor Party has exploded into open warfare at the highest levels
following the defeat of the senior cabinet minister Penny Wong to the
number one Senate ticket in favour of one of the lesser known faceless
men who helped install Julia Gillard to the Prime Ministership in
2010.
Right-faction powerbroker Don Farrell defeated Senator Wong in a
ballot today by 112 votes to 83 with the Finance Minister to be listed
second on the South Australian Senate ballot paper at the next federal
election.
Senior Labor frontbencher and left-faction figure Anthony Albanese let
fly today at ‘‘union powerbrokers’’ saying Labor’s ongoing factional
wars were evidence of a broken internal system.

Look at the ABC version:

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-10-27/w ... .svl=news1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Senior cabinet minister Penny Wong will head to the next federal
election as Labor's second nominee on the South Australian ballot
paper.
Senator Wong came second by 112 to 83 votes behind right faction
powerbroker Don Farrell in a poll at today's state Labor Party
conference.
In a statement, she says she is honoured to have been endorsed in a
winnable position after much speculation over the Senate
pre-selections.
However, the Federal Opposition has criticised Mr Farrell's number one
selection.

No mention of faction brawling which must be there otherwise the SMH
wouldn’t mention it. Making it sound as if the only people complaining
are the Libs

Maybe the ABC is reeling from what one of its former stars, Maxine
McKew, has done to the ALP’s prospects with her book.

It was on the front page of ABC news as the top story, titled "Wong snubbed", if that makes you feel any better.

Did I have time to confirm any of the included comments? No
hence my comment re the post.
hope you are feeling better :rofl

Do I like Penny Wong...? very much so.
Where do I stand on this... ? I think Labor is it's own worst enemy, and this is a bad look, considering the people involved.
