We all know the Rio exec has been arrested and held by Chinese officials.
There has been speculation it is payback for Chinalco not being able to take a bigger stake in Rio or for Rio getting good prices at the recent negotiations.
Stealing state secrets--seems Mr Hu is charged with bribing someone in the Chinese steel makers negotiating team to obtain info for use in the negotiations--since the steelmakers are state owned that was theft of state secrets.
Pollbludger has discussed that it could be to do with the Chinese govt feeling threatened by the increasing number of rich and very rich chinese business people wanting to influence the politics--and politics is supposed to be the preserve of the chinese communist party!

Guess the govt/Commo Party is asserting itself. Must be a lot of unrest in China due to the GFC.
