NBN 4G.png
Monk,

Let's look at the number in the first report. I will read the second in a moment. NBN is the future for Australian communications wit ha huige investment. Compared to todays 4G wireless technology, this test showed.
Ping 5 times faster.
Download 2 times faster.
Upload 4 times faster.

Most usage in the net is download and uploads are when you type then submit on a browser form, 99.99% of the time.

There is new techlology around the corner and mobility is the future... and as we agree underpinned by a big pipe fibre network. The point is, does that fibre need to go to each house.

So, Australia as made the bet for the future to have 2 times faster technology as compared to current wireless technology.

Good investment Australia. NOT.

Have a look at the upload difference.

This upload bandwidth will drive new uses, like good quality video phone calls, to more telepresence by business, to a wider sharing of educational resources, to more telecommuting. You lack the imagination to see that, yet it is already happening where the NBN has been installed and likely in all the other zillion places FTTH has been run out.

With an iPad a parent can sit down with a cup of coffee at a particular time and PING! a friend or son or daughter sitting at a computer or another iPad is connected with the parent or friend and they have a great chinwag. Doesn’t matter that they might be in different states.

I repeat, this is happening now! In Willunga and the other NBN sites people buy a house and move there if their business involves huge files, like photographers. This has happened already!

So it is the upload speed that is the real killer advantage of FTTH!

Really, SN, you need to read what FTTH has made possible instead of talking crap. The upload speed is the bit you don’t get.

FTTH (fiber to the home) is not the big advance you say. Uploading photos is not a realtime need and you wouldn't really notice the differnce of an NBN.

Realtime video is realy two way, I see advantages in that. however my current Skype service is nearly perfect and that is to my sisters in Australia using the current network. The advances in software and general bandwidth have made that possible.

Ping speeds are inportant to some, they should pay for it. Gaming is the current real userbase to benefit.

Your iPad is bollocks. iPads are data consumption devices. They create very little, so upload is not a major benefit.

All in all I don't see the business case for NBN. Again time will tell. When a full IP mobile wireless protocol comes soon, FTTH will not be justified.

Ah well, if you are just going to bullshit and lie too bad. I will enjoy the benefits of the NBN in under a year. If you are really so stupid no wonder your career is going down the tubes!

You will. An expensive service you will not pay the full value of.

Really. You don't seem to know as much about me as you think.

You mean blouse not blowse.

I have never run away from a debate on the NBN you fucking liar!

Even the UK is running out FTTH as is practically every other country! NZ has seen FTTN is crap and is running out FTTH.

The NBN will make a sizable profit and I will save a mozza using it.

BTW I have seen Skype phone calls. They are crap.
