Care to explain why Menzies didn't serve in WWI, Bobby? Afterall, he held a commission in the Melbourne University Rifles CMF (Citizens' Militia Forces - pre-runner to the Army Reserve of today).

I can think of three PMs who "have gone to war," Cods.

Holt - for a brief period in the Royal Australian Artillery until recalled by Ming to Parliament.
Gorton - an RAF Fighter pilot until he crashed his Spitfire and smashed his face (hence the disfigured nose).
Whitlam - an RAF Navigator - indeed a Master Navigator - he served in the Pacific until the war's end.

Of the three only the last two were what I'd have said were "great PMs". The first, Gorton was voted out of the position by his own party. The latter. Whitlam was axed from the position by a two-timing Governor-General.

I stand with the Christian community and all those affected in Sri Lanka by the Muslim terrorist attacks.

Christians are being persecuted worldwide in most cases by Muslims and need to start defending themselves.

We can no longer allow innocent men, women and children to die.

The death toll of people killed due to an Islamic terror attack in Sri Lanka has risen to 359.

This is incredibly tragic. My heart goes out to all those who suffered from this horrific attack.

I hope we will never have another innocent life lost to Muslim terrorism.
