The link is to the Australian and they want money to view it so I cannot see it.

Here is an interesting article from a US perspective. I like this comment on the differences.

"Well, one of the big reasons is that the Japanese government provides tax incentives for companies to do so"

Japan's is not government funded. They provide incentives....... then get the best.......

I thought I posted 2, one doesn't require membership.

Voila!
Japan blitzes NBN fibre speeds

Sony Computer chief Kazuo Hirai has launched the world's fastest fibre optic home network in Tokyo. Source: AP

JAPAN has launched a lightning fast fibre service that makes even Labor's promised NBN speeds look flaccid.

Launched by Sony chief Kazuo Hirai in Tokyo on Monday, the 'Nuro' service claims to be the world's fastest fibre optic home network, offering download speeds of 2 gigabits per second and upload speeds of 1 Gbps.

In contrast, Labor's top-notch 100 megabit per second business plan under the NBN offers 1/20 the speed, while the Coalition's cited 25 Mbps speed is 1/80 of Nuro's speeds quoted on its website.

Its claimed speeds even blitz the 1 Gbps FTTH download speed being rolled out in Kansas City and Austin Texas by Google in the US.

However domestic users in Japan face an uphill battle achieving 2 Gbps speeds around a home network with fast Ethernet cards in PCs and category 6 home cabling typically citing a maximum download speed of 1 Gbps.

A translation of Nuro's webpage cites the service as "the world's fastest Private home for commercial FTTH services market".

The service costs about $50 per month with a steep installation fee quoted at around $540.

Ultra quick 2 Gbps download speeds are cited as enabling several computers and mobile devices to operate on the same home network without speed degredation, and alongside other home internet services such as remote security monitoring, home automation and internet medical support systems.

Sony's move is likely to improve its ability to push ultra high definition (UHD) content to Japanese consumers across the internet. Sony is both manufacturing UHD TVs and busy developing content for the UHD media platform. Sony also is offering more high definition gaming content in the cloud and across the internet.

The launch by Mr Hirai was reported in The Pentagon Post.
the gizmodo one is rather short and limited in its outlook

You, IQ's and Nerf do a fine job of distracting yourselves and railroading discussion when you target members personally, and their children even in classical troll mode.

I wish I had as much courage and inspiration as you three, sigh... but that said, I'd probably be packed off to the funny farm and be sharing a padded cell with you lot if I did.

So, might pass on that I think.

Why?

Who is going to listen to a troll with a pension for abusing members and their children?

Now getting back to task....

Face it, Turnbulls NBN is deliberately barren... some might argue... hence it should be aborted.

Conroys is better, ( though could be better still) and lacks a business plan, rather is classically socialist, which has let it down I'm afraid.

We need the fastest NBN we can afford, to remain competitive within the Asian pacific.

It really is distracting and their opinions (as limited as they are) do not help Abbott in the slightest. They portray Coalition supporters as ignorant rednecks.

The more I look into the details of this government's performance - it's nowhere near as bad as the the media portrays it to be.

There has been some waste through inexperience, but it's no worse than when the Coalition held office. The trade figures are better and there has been more investment into public health and education. Under the Coalition real funding decreased.

People are saving more and wasting less.

As far as the NBN goes - yes it is an extravagant investment, but getting out of the agreements and deals already signed up to will cost more than actually continuing with it. It's a long term investment and although business will benefit from it more than us, they are our bread and butter.

This is why I remain doubtful re- their being genuine Liberals Mantra... more like members of the "New left-Right" Turbull brigade.

And re business reaping the rewards more than "Us"... it's not about them or us, it's about all of us benefiting from a more efficient internet service.

The more productive the business, the more jobs for "us" all.

Sounds like Mels spawn has convinced her that state sponsored monopolies and massive overspend are the in thing. Sounds like Mel might be morphing into a lefty.

It's not surprising. If he's in IT, he would be hammered by groupthink young leftards constantly. The industry is rife with idealistic morons who think activism is clicking 'like' and hitting send on a pre populated email
