USA tax system is VERY complicated.
A baseball star plays say 130 matches, 6o at home and 70 "on the road" many in diferent states.
He must file a "state" tax return for every state he played in !
State TAXES vary from state to state. some havew zero state taxes, but have high "property taxes" - sometimes 2% per annum of the value of your property
The good news is that your mortgage interest payments on your prime resiidence IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE !
There is no Fringe Benefit Tax
althoughthe financial year ends 30th december you must "file" your return by 15th April the following year. This leaves a window to get your affairs in order for that year, very handy.
