rubbish. Not supporting the pleb has nothing to do with it. The pleb is a $50m waste of money. Several MP's have already said they'll vote NO regardless of the pleb result. If that's going to be the case, why waste money on the pleb? Make it legally binding and labor has said they will support it, otherwise, better to put the money elsewhere. What is the no camp so afraid of that they won't make the result binding?

Referenda are for the Constitution they are binding. They are binding plebiscites.

Voting in referenda is compulsory. Referenda are binding on the government. A plebiscite is sometimes called an 'advisory referendum' because the government does not have to act upon its decision.
