In Australia - first we hated the aborigines, then the Asians, then the Italians, then the Vietnamese, then the Lebanese. Then we hated the Asians again and for the last decade it's been hate for the Africans and Muslims. Some Australians love to hate marginalised people, but their kids are growing up in a multicultural society and mostly, thank goodness, have none of the prejudices of their parents.

Another 20 years or so and we'll have the beginning of an egalitarian nation where all colours, creeds and race are considered equal.
