There has never been fluoride in the water in my area. We were told to give our children fluoride tablets, but after looking into it - wouldn't have dosed them with it if I was paid to. Sydney water stinks of fluoride and is undrinkable.

If kids have cavities, it's because their diets aren't good - too many sweets and processed foods and not brushing regularly and properly.

No mantra—the rate of cavities is always higher when the water isn’t fluoridated. So for those with good diets there are still higher numbers of cavities in non–fluoridated water, similar for those on bad diets—but we are not comparing good and bad diets!

I think it would be preferable having the odd cavity than slow poisoning over a long period of time.

Fluoride is a highly toxic substance. Consider, for example, the poison warning that the FDA now requires on all fluoride toothpastes sold in the U.S. or the tens of millions of people throughout China and India who now suffer serious crippling bone diseases from drinking water with elevated levels of fluoride.

In terms of acute toxicity (i.e., the dose that can cause immediate toxic consequences), fluoride is more toxic than lead, but slightly less toxic than arsenic. This is why fluoride has long been used in rodenticides and pesticides to kill pests like rats and insects. It is also why accidents involving over-ingestion of fluoridated dental products–including fluoride gels, fluoride supplements, and fluoridated water–can cause serious poisoning incidents, including death.

Haha. Even commonsense tells you that it's hardening your teeth, so what's it doing to the rest of your body. As usual we're one of the last developed countries to take any notice of health warnings.

The fluoride that is purchased by municipal waterworks and added into public drinking water is not even a "pharmaceutical grade" fluoride. It is primarily discarded waste, a slurry of toxins not wanted by the phosphate fertilizer mining corporations that sell it to waterworks. From there, it is then disposed of (sometimes by unskilled workers) into our drinking water. For those who have swallowed the propaganda that fluoride is "completely safe," and is some kind of a "nutrient" that is good for us, there is news footage available of a recent fluoride spill that took place in Illinois. A Hazmat team in protective gear was called in to clean up the mess, but not before the fluoride began eating through the concrete driveway it had spilled upon.

Fluoride has been banned in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, West Germany (now unified), Italy, Belgium, Austria, France, and The Netherlands.
