Still a tiny minority compared to the 1.6 billion other Muslims, Bobby.
But even 19 of them is far too many.
Is it. How many members do the Mafiaso have, Bobby? How many do the Tongs, the Yakuza or the various other criminal gangs have? 19 were successful because the American intelligence and police communities turned a blind eye to what they were doing until they had succeeded. Keep it in proportion is all I am suggesting, nothing more. Islamophobes fail dismally at that. I am more worried about being hit by a car on an Australian street than I am by the idea of some made Islamist Terrorist knocking on my front door.

Maybe you're not worried but I am and
so are many other people.
If it wasn't for our expensive and very vigilant security services here in Australia
we would have suffered catastrophic terrorist attacks.
No answer - you implied that I was an islamophobe.
You are, Bobby, you are.
Brian -

you're either with us or you're with the terrorists.

There is no grey area.
I would suggest a pox on both your houses. I neither support Terrorists or Imperialists. Sorry, that is how I perceived G.W.Bush's statement on the matter. It was simplistic and designed to appeal to a simplistic domestic audience, not to a sophisticate world one. He wanted support to invade Afghanistan, not to necessarily bring Usama bin Laden to justice. That he was then willing, before the job in Afghanistan was completed, to withdraw forces to allow him to invade Iraq - a nation completely disconnected from the events of 11 September, was simply icing on the cake as far as I was concerned. He wanted to "sort out the Middle-East", to Israel's advantage rather than solve the problem of Terrorism and Terrorists.

No Brian,
there is no rock you can hide under -
there is no grey area.

you're either with us or you're with the terrorists.

You decide and then tell us.

he is a muslim, therefore yes he is with islamic terrorists

moh had a fire lit on a mans chest so the man would tell where gold was hidden.
moh had a man killed so moh could marry his wife

all muslims follow the person who did these things.

Brian has to realise that we, along with America & the rest of the free world
are in a global war on terrorism.
It will last for at least 100 years.
Many will die and Brian must decide what side he's on.

dear Brian,
I do - because George Bush didn't give you that grey area luxury in his speech.
He received a standing ovation for that statement

either you're with us or you're with the terrorists.

and it hasn't been retracted by the USA or disagreed with by John Howard - our PM at the time and
no other PM in Australia has said anything against it.
It's the rule that we now follow.

Therefore you still have to decide.

Nope. He was and is an American. Americans have always had problems with shades of grey for some obscure reason. You can see that in their Hollywood Westerns. Me, I prefer shades of grey. It covers all eventualities and gives a modicum of difference depending on circumstance - something neither el Presidente' Bush or you appear willing to accept or think about. Tut, tut.
