Agreed.

But this won't stop quasi conservative parties immigrating votes.
LOL what a joke...
Labor import votes and have for decades...
Labor didn't stop the boats, the Liberals did.
Now we have a situation where we imports hundreds of thousands and apparently create hundreds of thousands of jobs... yet the unemployment percentage remains the same... if you think about it... that means more unemployed... :du

I know people who got "retrenched" and did they sit around, hoping that Centrelink would help? No way. They got out there and found "employment" ... even if it was lower than what they were qualified for. Next thing they are Manger of whatever .... change of employment. Go drive a truck, clean offices, windows or gutters. Sitting around feeling "depressed" is the worst thing you can do. Besides, if/when you do get an interview in your "qualified" field, you can tell them that you have been working and not sitting around on your bum. They will be impressed. :thumb
How many times must you be told?
For starters older people face a lot of Ageism in the workplace...
Secondly what don't YOU understand about 770,000 unemployed and 150,000 jobs.... leaving 620,000 on the unemployment heap with no job to do?
You are spouting a fantasy.

Plenty of older people work and their experience is valued in the workplace.

Of course references are important so if they've had anger or misconduct issue's in former workplaces, then this would take it's toll.

Depends on how well they've conducted themselves interpersonally also.

Why would you suggest older workers may have anger issues or misconduct behind them?

There aren't enough jobs period and immigrants are being given priority over Australians. Nothing to do with misconduct or anger within the ranks of older Australians. Anger and/or misconduct would usually be found in the 'other' sector.

TB will become very serious if we don't start talking about it as part as the first line of defence.... incurable TB exists and will be in Australia if we don't keep our heads!

PURE FACT!

Imagine that!! :b

Lol, we all have builders in the family brother: we know who wants immigration and it's the richo c-words with no compassion for their own flesh and blood who died for this country!

Tell your story walking pal because we've all met you at Christmas time... no one cares you've got a house with river views and wife that knows how to turn on an oven.

Go on, tell me what else you've got?

Yeh, nothing mate we all know you've got nothing :PC :PC :PC :PC :PC :PC :PC :PC

Nope references are not important especially written ones...

You are clueless about getting a job these days or how difficult it can be for the elderly...
Most people over 50 end up doing nightfill for coles or try surviving till the aged pension cuts in...
mind you any menial jobs you get and put on your cv only go to prove to young HR bods, that you are past it in your old job and good for nothing else... :du

oh and experience is seen as a threat in the workplace especially to those doing the hiring. :hlo
