My point being, that authorities and the media jumped to conclusions re- the race and personal circumstances of how a young Maria came to be found in the care of the Roma couple who were falsely accused of trafficking and or abducting her.

The McCanns sued many for much less.

I think I may have also been right about Maria suffering with albinism.
What lead me to believe this was a possibility (apart from her physical appearance) was her apparent eye problems.

A lawyer came forward last week claiming to have information that Maria had at one time been in the care of a businessman seeking to adopt but that he had rejected her after discovering she had congenital eye defects — most likely related to the albino condition she shares with five of her nine siblings.

It seems, this child may have been given-up to a single woman who claimed she could not have children of her own with a view to being sold to another childless couple.
Though given Marias eye troubles and albinism, she was rejected then given to the Roma couple to raise as their own as though she were an unwanted puppy.

The authorities and media have made such a mess of this, have forcibly removed a small child from the only family she knew for political reasons...a family who loved and cared for her deeply.

The children appear too white to belong to these parents unless they've got a missing chromosone which causes this albino effect in their progeny.

As far as Americans worshiping red hair - over the years I have heard many references made to "he's such a good looking young man with red hair". It's always seemed as though red hair was envied amongst the males and desired by the females. When I went to school - there were one or two kids with ginger hair and freckles and they weren't considered attractive, but now it's quite common probably because multiculturalism has introduced many different ethnicities into our gene pool.

Good grief, Mantra! If couples can't have their own kids and want children ....... would you really, truly care if the little baby that you had wanted for years had a different coloured skin to yours? People want children and if they cant have their own, they will take what they can get. The children involved don't realise anything is different. The parents are their Mother and Father and that is IT. Taking the child away at 3-4 years old would be very damaging to the child ... and the parents. Leave things be.
