Re: The UN is crazy......... Syria
A great day for democracy in the UK.
After recalling parliament, they have voted not to support a bill that allows the UK to participate in strikes on Syria. They will wait for the evidence to clearer and the UN inspectors report. Everyone is gun shy after Blair's lies to kick start the last Iraq war.
However the mood in the US is different.
WWIII could still be on the cards.
I haven't caught up on Australia's latest position. Is Australia poodling along to the US' war tunes?

If the US strikes Syria and it turns into a full blown war the UK will get dragged into it anyway.
Rudd is too concerned with selfies and school kids to bother with letting us Aussies know about his thoughts on Syria.

Oh no Kokoda Kevvy wants to take action along side the US... Abbott is being more circumspect and less of a war monger.

Sounds sensible to me.Opposition Leader Tony Abbott has cautioned against Australia becoming too involved in the Syrian crisis, saying we should not exaggerate our role in a ''difficult international conflict''.
This idea that Australia is going to be a key player here is, I think, to rather exaggerate our own importance.
In a rare foray into foreign affairs by the man likely to become Australia's next prime minister, Mr Abbott said Syria's conflict was ''a civil war between two equally unsavoury sides''.
''This is a time for cool heads, not for intemperance or for belligerence,'' Mr Abbott said.

Admitting he supported Australia's involvement in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, Mr Abbott said we should nevertheless learn the lessons from the interventions in those two conflicts.
Mr Abbott described the chemical attacks that killed hundreds of Syrians as an ''abomination'', but he suggested there was little the Australian military could do to help.
''Should any action be taken, it will be taken by countries with the capability to do so, and Australia is not one of those,'' Mr Abbott said.
''We don't have ready access to the kind of weaponry that apparently is possibly going to be involved, should anything be done.''
Kokoda KevMr Abbott appeared to rebuke Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, who says Australia can play a significant role in the Syrian crisis as president of the United Nations Security Council from September.
Mr Rudd has hinted that Australia could side-step any veto in the UN Security Council by making a presidential statement to show ''broad sentiment'' condemning Syria.

Exactly!Mr Abbott said on Friday: ''This idea that Australia is going to be a key player here is, I think, to rather exaggerate our own importance.''
"We've got to be very careful here to avoid making bad situations worse," Mr Abbott said. ''We all know what a powder keg the Middle East is.''

The US could be isolated on this issue and if they act.... on their own... the world will become a very dangerous place indeed.
God bless America... it needs her help now.

A reported 1400 + died in gas attacks. France stands by USA. I think most Americans have forgotten what a reliable ally France is.
