Hmmmm just remembered one. In his "the Second World War" he describes a time he was touring where houses had just been bombed to smithereens (how did the German pilots etc rationalise away to act of mass killing? The people said "Look, he is crying for us" when it was their courage that had prompted Churchill's tears.

But fighting a war and comforting survivors of a disaster are two very different things.

Re the shadow Treasury position, that in the Latham diaries? Think Latham rather gilded the lilly quite a bit.

And here is someone who is in the burned-out town every day:
Rudd was there and got the army and Centrelink in pronto, tromped on Centrelink behaving like brain dead bureaucrats smartly. There’s a big group of sparkies who are up there every day giving their time and materials free, re-connecting people to power, as the lines go back up. Got a big clap at the community meeting.
There is a time and place for tears and for action!

Uturnbull didn't cry, while starting that swimming race!

Post proof about Churchill even in private, still you concede he did not weep like a baby in public like Rudd.

I thought Latham was lying too, until I viewed Rudd in action, now I know he was telling the truth.

Proof amateur beer boy?

And should you prove it there is a Grand Canyon of difference between weeping at the spur of the moment and weeping to the entire nation.

It is somewhere in the first few volumes of Churchill's "The Second World War"

He is beginning to sound a lot like Sheepy, he endless calls for proof when I already quoted my source. Not seeing any sign of a photo of medals being posted either.

You will forgive me if I do not count on your memory and I will forgive you for not addressing the main issue of weeping while the entire nation is looking for courage and leadership.

I gave a source, go and buy the bloody books and read!

The trouble with you Frogen is you give false comparisons, natural disaster aftermath v ongoing war. You also ignored the eyewitness evidence I quoted to the effect Rudd providing strong leadership in getting effective assistance!

Why not give an opinion on Uturnbull and his small package playing on a beach while Rudd was there on the field giving comfort.

Argue honestly.
