I agree with Sprint. Instead of sitting around waiting for a job to land at your door, go out and CREATE one.

Use your imagination and do some work for people in your neighbourhood .... or something. Older people still want "gurus" to come and fix their computers and so forth.

Be creative! Invent something. You read all the time about people who have made millions by setting up a Web Site with some smart idea. Borrow the money. Sitting around crying "poor me" won't get you very far.

Oh, and you aren't going to get too much FREE advice on a Forum like PA or OzPol. Most people who sit around on these Forums are either retired, unemployed or check the sites out of habit while they are working.

So your thinking is that a factory worker that's been laid of with a wife and a few kids, all the sudden figures out how to be in his own business, have a idea that's good enough to feed his family and have magic recourses to set it up , all the time no money coming in and competing with all the other guys laid of from the factory ? How about if the guy is 60 and has done a job that is redundant, how is he going to help ppl with computers, or change his mind set overnight.
Its all good to say they can all become self employed, think of how many ppl u know that wouldn't be able to run a business on their own, for what ever the reason.
So all of them, its starve or thievery then

Ive heard North Korea is absolutly gorgeous this time of year

Laid off (supposedly for 3 months) on 2nd of May. [Since been advised only 2 months]
Made what money I had last 3 weeks while I slashed acres and acres of (seeded) spear grass, so I can [put the goats on it - nothing eats spear grass in seed.
Asked for job on farm I worked on 8 years ago - sacked for rubbing rain coat thief's face in the mud on a rainy day.
Cold weather's slowed crops up, trying to hang onto current staff - No job!

Applied for dole on 23rd of May. Withdrew $70 from bank account created to feed PayPal account.
Lived on that $70 for 2 weeks ... ran out of gas about a week ago, been sleeping beside fire place in humpee ... Max the pup is a heater hog.
Been feeding dogs on road kill and rice. Ran out of fuel for brush cutter, slashing's ceased.

Today 7/6/18 .. Withdrew last $30 from PayPal feeder account .... spotted 4 road kills to pick up for dogs on way home.

Now I am truly skint! .... Don't know what's going on with the dole ... waiting, waiting ...

Ah well at least the batteries in the metal detector are charged up, spoze I got time to look for a nugget.

Meanwhile Custard Guts has been creeping/stalking every night without fail for at least a fortnight now. He must be getting desperate.
That's OK, 'coz that means he's suffering, and psychopaths deserve to suffer.

god that sounds terrible winter I guess is not a good time to seek work on farms... get into town yogi... at least you will have more support groups here

sorry to hear all this I hate hearing about jobs losses....and as you get older its hard to cope with....you feel let down by everything.....I wish you well Canberras not a bad place lots of help here..
