Re: Reasons not to vote for the Coalition
So, really, there is not a single reason to vote for the LNP.

Last time the LNP tried smear, the Utegate thing, it cost Turnbull the Leadership. Turnbull was a fine one to try and smear anyway, his Wentworth Forum was more like what he tried to paint Rudd’s group as. And we can all remember the Rainmaker scandal? Turnbull, while still Environment Minister paid a mate of his from the Wentworth forum $10m for a rainmaking machine the Russians had discarded as a dud. Penny Wong managed to reduce the loss to tax payers to $5m. The machine didn’t produce a drop of rain.

Abbott didn't get funds under false pretenses and then expose workers to asbestos.

Then if you want a BIG scandal, a real one, there is always AWB, $300m paid to Sadam Hussein in bribes.
This Slater & Gordon stuff is not a scandal, it is smear, muckraking. Abbott’s cowardly revenge for the misogyny speech.

Mark Latham in the AFR:
http://www.afr.com/p/opinion/libs_cover ... UxVdgbytRO" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The consequences of this nonsense for Tony Abbott’s and Bishop’s leadership of the Liberal Party are profound. With the collapse of the opposition’s anti-carbon tax campaign and its failure to develop a policy agenda, the Liberals have run out of things to talk about. They have fallen back on conspiracy theories and quirky Abbottisms, such as his ruminations last week on the cultural integrity of urban Aborigines versus outback Aborigines – the funniest “urban” joke since Elaine Benes invented the urban sombrero in Seinfeld.
Prior to the resurrection of the Slater & Gordon issue in August, the opposition was coasting in the opinion polls. Since then the political race has tightened and Abbott has fallen to pitiful levels of personal approval. That’s the problem with fanaticism in politics: it makes people pick the wrong issues. The Liberals cannot win a character contest. They can only beat Labor by debating policies.

The ol moral equivalency argument ran out when the ALP used up the tiny amount of morals that that managed to find wallowing in the pus at the bottom of their heart.
