The govt taxes and spends less than the Howard govt. We also have lower interest rates.

The terms of trade do not flow into the government coffers. Since the GFC the savings rate has shot up to normal levels but those have not been seen for a while. People are saving, deleveraging by paying off credit card and mortgage debts, putting money in the bank.

Idiots like Abbott raving on about how bad everything is, how the Carbon “tax” will destroy the economy etc haven’t helped. Nor have moronic state Lib govts.

But now people don’t give two figs about the carbon price, the compensation, especially the tripling of the tax free threshold is improving retail no end. So look for employment to improve, the economy to improve and more tax, GST/company/income tax, to start flowing into state and fed govt coffers. Swanny’s surplus will be over $5Bn.

Rubbish- the only measure you have of that is proportion of GDP which is affected by the record terms of trade and even then, this piece of shit govt can't deliver a surplus.

Figures show that they have increased tax by $33Bn over the last 4 years for a budget saving of only $2.8Bn in total- which shows they are spending and taxing more with nothing to show for it

Of course you use a proportion of GDP—the higher the GDP the higher you expect spending and tax to be. The money received as part of the carbon price all goes back out in compensation.

This is a low taxing low spending government, partly through cutting the insane and irresponsible Howard spending and middleclass welfare.

As I said, watch the economy start to zoom as a result of the brilliant tripling of the tax free threshold with more returning to the workplace. Forbes Business Magazine put out an issue where they said this was the way to treat the carbon price money that only Australia had got this right!

With the MDBasin Agreement in place, the NBN being rolled out—probably unstoppable by now—the Tasmanian Timber Agreement, the Plain Packaging of cigarettes, all steered through a HoR where the government has the slimmest of margins Prime Minister Gillard will be known as one of the great PMs. I put her side by side with Jack Curtin.

Hah! All this crap, and Newspoll shows nothing has changed.
Newspoll

51-49 2PP to the coalition

Primaries: Coalition 43, ALP 36 , Greens 11

Better PM: Gillard 46, Abbott 33

Gillard: Satisfied 37, Dissatisfied 52 netsat -15

Abbott: Satisfied 30, Dissatisfied 61 netsat -31

23-25 November. Sample 1156
Abbott way behind, will continue to drag LNP vote down. Doesn’t look like this confected bullshit about S&G has made any difference and after Wilson spoke up any further mudslinging re S&G will rebound on the Libs. There is a 10% Other Vote—that is normally 8% and the Green vote is 2% too high, all well within MoE tho.

With Gonski and NDIS taking a more central role I imagine the support for the PM and the government will see its support increase in the new year.

This is a stupid time to try and push this nothing—voters just aren’t switched on to politics ATM—but I guess that sort of stupidity is what you get with a monkey in charge.

So to answer the question posed by the OP: How long until Gillard gets dumped? Gillard will be PM for at least 3 terms and then retire.

OMG, words escape me here, either you are a complete ignoramus or are a frigging liar.

And not a very convincing one I will just add.

Reality check point--------------> Julia Gillard is the most distrusted and unloved PM we have ever had, she wasn't even our nations choice initially, when she knifed Kevin Rudd and pushed her way in via the back door.

She's sexist, treacherous, devious and incompetent... not to mention dishonest, (more so than most politicians) it's as simple as that.

Not exactly the calling card of a great PM, not even close.

Monk, Julia Gillard always knew she was keeping the seat warm for someone else, was only temping.

I'm guessing Bill Shorten is Labors next batter up, now all he has to do is publicly undermine Julia Gillard, this and express sentiments consistent with those views held by the general public re- Gillards incompetence, and he'll be in a good position to challenge her for the leadership, something I believe was in the wings well before Gillard slid in through the back door and knifed Rudd.
In fact, the knifing of Rudd was a Shorten production, Gillard was merely playing her part, following orders.

I believe Julia Gillard was always Bill Shortens girl Friday, was used for the betterment furtherment of his own political career.

And Gillard as his willing assistant has no qualms with this as she will retire from politics on a fat PM pension, courtesy of the Australian tax payer.

___________

Let it be known, Bill Shorten has already publicly stated that a union slush fund which Julia Gillard helped set up almost two decades ago was "unauthorised and inappropriate."

Cant you see whats happening here Monk?

8-)

And as for how long before Gillard gets dumped...

Well it cant be too far away, (likely the next federal election, or soon there after) because Showbag Shorten needs more time to establish himself outside inner-party circles as a viable contender for both the Labor leadership and as Australia's first president.

He wants to be Australia's first President, when simply being a mere PM is just not good enough. 8-)
