Funny how progs always claim victory when defeated.

But yes, Nef did come to your rescue. Still unsure if you and bart found it funny, though...

You just don't get it do you?
Your premise is a crock.
If you are happy Nef came to the rescue... then apologise for being wrong.
No sane person would make such a claim.

Are you trying to prove my point by being a humourless douche?
I was obviously being facetious, in an attempt to get melbart to actually address what I said (ie. asking her if she could post a funny taking the piss out of one of her own). It failed, twice... and then we get one come in out of left field

oh oh oh....
I've been waiting for that one.
no... I wasn't the one suggesting people of a conservative nature were humourless...
obviously... ?
Obviously didn't work did it.
BTW I've notice LW Prog humour usually consists of ridicule directed at Conservatives. (possibly what Nef posted)
Say something funny and I'll laugh.... so far you're batting zero.

FEDERAL Treasurer Wayne Swan is on track to lose his seat in Queensland, a poll indicates.
The ReachTEL telephone poll was commissioned by union United Voice and surveyed 511 residents in Mr Swan's north Brisbane electorate of Lilley on Thursday night.
According to ReachTEL, 45.2 per cent of respondents said they would vote for the Liberal National Party candidate Rod McGarvie as their preferred candidate while 38 per cent said they would vote for Labor and Mr Swan.
Just over 45 per cent of respondents (45.1 per cent) said their opinion of the treasurer was unfavourable, compared with 34.1 per cent who said they had a favourable view of him.
Almost 20 per cent (19.1 per cent) were neutral and 1.8 per cent hadn't heard of the federal treasurer.
In 2010 Mr Swan narrowly scraped home ahead of Mr McGarvie on preferences, weathering a 4.77 per cent swing against him.

Labor politicians make sure they get a payrise. They make sure their people get jobs. But they neglect the people who really need jobs and need help.
Newstart is two-thirds of pension: inquiry
* From: AAP
* August 27, 2012 2:23PM
THE Newstart unemployment allowance is less than two-thirds of the age pension in Australia, a Senate inquiry has been told.
The Combined Pensioners and Superannuants Association (CPSA) of NSW told the inquiry that because of different indexation methods used Newstart had dropped from being 91 per cent of the age pension in 1997, to just 65 per cent in 2012.
People on Newstart receive a base of $245 a week, which is $225 below the poverty line level of $470 a week and $132 below the age pension, which is $377 a week.
"People on pensions struggle to pay for basic goods and services, with many falling below the poverty line," CPSA spokeswoman Amelia Christie said.
"Obviously, people on allowances such as Newstart struggle even more."
The CPSA joined the chorus of social welfare groups presenting submissions to the inquiry in Melbourne on Monday that want Newstart to be increased by $50 a week and for an independent body to set allowance rates.
Ms Christie said a $50 a week increase would bring the allowance to only half the minimum wage, so it would still provide recipients with the incentive to find work.
To raise the allowance by $50 a week would cost about $1.5 billion a year, which Ms Christie said was not a lot in the context of a federal government social spending budget of $122 billion.

Gillard bungled tax deal - Greens
January 21, 2013
Judith Ireland
The negotiation skills of the Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, are not all they are cracked up to be, says the leader of the Greens, Christine Milne, as pressure mounts on the government to release details of the mining tax, which is believed to have raised little revenue so far.
''The Prime Minister is always cited as a great negotiator but I have pointed out it's not about whether you get an agreement, it's about whether the agreement you get actually delivers,'' Senator Milne said.
The Greens and the Coalition are calling on the government to reveal how much it is receiving from the Minerals Resource Rent Tax.
The tax on the super profits of coal and iron ore miners was forecast to raise about $2 billion in 2012-13 but industry sources say the big three miners - BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto and Xstrata - don't expect to make any payments this week for the December quarter, repeating the reported outcome in the September quarter.
The Finance Minister, Penny Wong, has said that the government reveals its resource rent tax receipts (which includes the Petroleum Resource Rent Tax) in monthly financial statements but, on advice from the Tax Office, cannot be specific about the mining tax receipts because of taxpayer confidentiality.
This is not a reasonable excuse, Senator Milne said. She wrote to Ms Gillard late last week, reminding her that the Prime Minister had written to the then leader of the Greens, Bob Brown, during negotiations over the mining tax legislation last year, saying monthly updates would be published on revenue collections.
Ms Gillard made renegotiating the mining tax a priority when she became Prime Minister in mid-2010, agreeing that miners could deduct state royalties from their mining tax liability. This meant that when a state raised mining royalties on iron ore or coal, the tax's proceeds were reduced.
''The credibility of those negotiations is coming under increased scrutiny because no money has been raised and the loophole is so great,'' Senator Milne said.
The Greens have been calling on the government to close the mining tax loophole through legislation, a move backed by independent MP Rob Oakeshott. Senator Milne's letter to the Prime Minister reminds her that the Greens have got legislation ready to go.
A spokesman for Ms Gillard said on Sunday that the Prime Minister had not yet replied to Senator Milne but said there were ''no plans'' to reintroduce the mining tax to Parliament.
This comes as the Coalition also puts pressure on the government over the mining tax.
The shadow treasurer, Joe Hockey, says he will use the first week of Parliament next month to push a Senate motion calling on the government to release details of what the big miners have paid.

Read more: http://www.smh.com.au/opinion/politics/ ... z2IYQYPHEA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Reality check: Bowen's department sat on Wilders' visa application for almost two months, then acted only after the minister received public criticism and Wilders was cancelling his trip.
No such long delay hindered the visit of Taji Mustafa, a spokesman for Hizb ut-Tahrir, an apologist for jihad, when he made a speaking tour in Australia last September while Wilders was being frozen out. When questioned in Parliament, Bowen replied: ''Hizb ut-Tahrir has not been proscribed in Australia … This entry permit was issued in accordance with the normal procedures for British nationals.''
Apparently, the anti-Western Hizb ut-Tahrir is not ''fringe'', nor worthy of an excoriating opinion piece, but the leader of a party that won 24 seats, 1.4 million votes, and 15 per cent of the vote in the Dutch 2010 election represents an extremist fringe.
People are entitled to loathe Wilders, or shun him. They are also entitled to support him, or hear him. The problems encountered with his visit illustrate the double-speak, double-standards and fear that exists when it comes to the subject for which Wilders is notorious - confronting Muslim extremism.
Neither Wilders nor the PVV have ever been involved in violent conduct, yet he has lived under 24-hour police protection for the past nine years, since two Muslim fundamentalists were arrested after a siege in 2004 and charged with planning to assassinate him.
When Wilders comes to Australia next month for speaking engagements in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, he will be accompanied by five Dutch security officers. The venues will not be revealed until 48 hours before each speech.
Wilders believes Islam is a political ideology, not just a religion, and should be compared with totalitarian belief systems. He has compared the Koran to Fascism and Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf. He advocates ending immigration by Muslims because the Netherlands was losing its demographic and social stability. For this he was taken to court for hate speech. He won, but the case occupied three years.
