Whether or not you like the outcome, Mr Newman:

Failed to effectively consult the legal fraternity on new laws, not least the well-publicised bikie laws. To do so would have been normal process.
Failed to consult senior medical staff about job cuts and doctors' contracts which led to distrust within the medical fraternity. Now, he is promising to reinstate many of those jobs.
Doesn't seem to want to listen to environmental experts who are screaming for legislation which will protect our greatest natural treasure, the Great Barrier Reef.
And let's not be fooled – the decision to sell assets was made long ago. Strong Choices and the Queensland Plan were little more than elaborate publicity stunts, albeit two of the few occasions when the government felt a need to consult.

That said, Labor's Annastacia Palaszczuk also carries an election platform littered with problems:

The state's economy is not in great shape. And it seems under Labor's policy, Queensland won't have any new toys, aka infrastructure, for quite some time.
There is a promise of jobs, without a solid plan to improve the performance of state-owned assets. In other words, we've no idea how new jobs will be funded.
Environment, education and health policies are for a "positive" future, but there is too little detail. Voters teetering on the edge might like to vote Labor, but just can't bring themselves to face the uncertainty that would bring.
And there is an issue of trust. Former leader Anna Bligh lost power after parting with state assets. Can we believe that there is another way to manage the economy?

In short, this election is a referendum on asset sales: Yes, we want state assets in the hands of private operators (Vote LNP). Or no, we're prepared to believe Labor has heard the call and will retain assets under state management (Vote Labor).

If there is no money left in the coffers thanks to Anna Bligh they won't be able to do much unless they sell off assets too, surely.
