I told you eye witness accounts, so far 2. Both in various forms of the media. Considering I've seen similar displays on TV, it gives them credibility. So what do you have to back your biased negative opinion up?

This is going well:
Or is the ABC a discredited left wing source as well?

But Indonesia is unhappy Australia will not say if the spying allegations are true and wants a guarantee it will not happen again.
Or is the ABC a discredited left wing source as well?

Re: Let's embrace the new government's policies
As Tanya Plibersek stated last night neither the government or opposition can confirm or deny anything about this as the Indonesians know full well, and most of this is all just part of their build up to their elections. And we are the whipping boy, they aren't getting stuck into the US now are they and apparently they are who we were spying for.Hebe wrote:This is going well:

Re: Let's embrace the new government's policies
I'm surprised the Indonesians and Chinese didn't catch on earlier. This was in an article a few months ago about the increased intelligence at Pine Gap. The yanks have been coming over here in droves. As well as getting good reception into Asian activities, they're also flying their bomber drones to Pakistan from here and killing hundreds of innocent people at the same time.
There was some controversy a while back about our complicity with the US and what effect it will have on our exports to China when they realise the full extent of our joint covert exercises with the US.

Increasingly, journalists attending the Minister for Immigration’s press conferences are met by his stony refusal to elaborate on his media statements. Morrison has become notorious for his ex cathedra approach to questioners.
Assertions, rather than verifiable evidence and reasoned argument, are used to make those weekly announcements. Take it or leave it.

Pine gap has been around for a very long time it isn't a secret. Nor are the other communications intercept posts and don't think China don't have their own or Russia etc, etc, etc.... They are not likely to tell the world you know. Don't think Indonesia don't spy on us either.
You really do need to back up that drone thing... Pakistan is a very long way from here and it would take a lot of fuel to get there and back.

Please supply links to back up that whole last claim of yours.

Honestly I hear Morrison every week on 2GB he is very forthcoming. These people need to broaden their information gathering and stop being so politically insular and biased.

Distance is not a problem for drones and they can travel many thousands of kms at a low cost.
You really do need to back up that drone thing... Pakistan is a very long way from here and it would take a lot of fuel to get there and back.Especially carrying BOMBS.
Please supply links to back up that whole last claim of yours.
If the ADF had clean hands - they would immediately deny our complicity with these obscene instruments of war.
The Australian Defence Department is refusing to reveal the extent of its involvement with America's drone program, as a Pakistani family tells of how their grandmother was "blown to pieces".
Members of the Pakistani family, in their first interview with Australian media, have told the ABC of a drone strike that killed their grandmother in North Waziristan in October last year.
...........
The Human Rights Law Centre wants the Australian Government to reveal whether that spy base is helping the US plot its armed drone attacks.
The organisation wants to know if any Australian intelligence has aided the American targeted killing of Al Qaeda and Taliban chiefs and, in turn, civilians.
"It's unacceptable that Australia might be involved in this highly controversial American program without the Australian Government even informing its own citizens," centre research director Emily Howie said.
The centre says as many as 3,000 people may have been killed in drone strikes, including many civilians.

Professor Ratner questioned the five criteria set out in the US fact sheet. One issue relevant to Australia is the potential consequences for states that host US bases and provide communications facilities for them. Are they compliant? Are they legally liable? Recent unconfirmed media reports have suggested that Pine Gap in the Northern Territory has been used to help guide US drone strikes.
Despite official Australian silence the Australian Defence Force has routinely used unarmed surveillance and intelligence-collection drones in Iraq and Afghanistan, and it sees drones as potentially important tools in patrolling the vast stretches of the Indian and Pacific oceans that surround the continent.
Asked about the possible acquisition of armed drones ADF leaders prefer to stress five clear benefits: they are cheap, easy to deploy, pinpoint accurate, can be flown for longer periods than manned aircraft, and keep personnel out of harm’s way.

Although the Pakistani government, which has a poor record in bringing to justice human rights abusers, outwardly opposes the US drone program, Amnesty is concerned that some officials and institutions in Pakistan and in other countries including Australia, Germany and the UK may be assisting the US to carry out drone strikes that constitute human rights violations.
“The Pakistani authorities must disclose information on all US drone strikes they have documented and what measures they have taken or will take to assist victims of these strikes,” said Qadri.
Impact on children
“Children have lost their mental balance, they are afraid all the time,” said Nabeel from Zowi Sidgi. “After seeing the body parts and hearing the screaming of the victims my young nephew is always scared and crying, running towards his mother saying the drone could come and strike again.”

Nope... neither confirm or deny. there would be no operational or intelligence disclosures.

Well they can whistle for that it is none of their business.

Unacceptable to who? Not me.

They are an ally. We have military agreements.

yep.

Well that's sad what do you expect a normal person to say? So we are back to square 1... no proof mantra.
