So.....do you have any proper responsive answer to the question?

Perhaps if you read your own links for once?
Opposition frontbencher Christopher Pyne confirmed that leaked details of the coalition's environment policy, including the timeline for rolling back the carbon tax, were correct.

The reports included calling a double-dissolution election within five months if the coalition's efforts to abolish carbon pricing were thwarted.

Yeas, I know that. BUT....if the ALP run their Senate campaign on the basis that if they get the numbers there, they will block the any attempt to repeal the carbon tax, Abbott will thereby be denied the ability to effectively claim he had a mandate to do it.....because the ALP can also say they had a mandate to knock back that repeal in the Senate.

Nice try but no cigar as for one senate seats are not a position of mandate and secondly its not a full senate election so any way you try to look at or spin it, they have no mandate...nil, nada, zip, zilch nyet.

Well, I know how I'd play it if I were an ALP strategist. I'd make it so plain that a vote for the ALP in the Senate is a vote FOR the carbon tax that Abbott would have that rug pulled out, should he win the HoR.

:rofl :rofl :rofl
Like the ALP are going to run with that line. Their strategy is to try and WIN more seats and they know their carbon tax is a mangy dog and will do everything they can to not draw attention to it.

They know the carbon tax is one of the main causes of their disintegration.

Rubbish.....but as I said, I would run it.....as it completely diffuses Abbott's threat of a double dissolution if he wins the HoR and does not have control of the Senate. The Greens would be a very willing part of that strategy.

No it wouldn't. The election, which is for the lower house is and alway will be about a mandate to remove the carbon tax. If the ALP want to campaign for a mandate to keep it, then they should let the voters know...yknow, like they did last time... :rofl

After the thrashing the ALP will receive in Sept, they would be well advise to roll over and let the LIbs get on with fixing their fuckups and regroup so they can have another shot in 12 years time 8-)

It's not as if you have ever shown to be politically savvy in Australian politics or even PA politics...both have you backing loser positions constantly.

Nobody gives a stuff about the Carbon Price and haven’t since shortly after 1st July last year. It doesn’t resonate as an election issue with most doubting Abbott would repeal it.

I bet Gillard will do a Keating and say: if you don’t want to do anything about global warming, fine, vote for the Libs and the ALP won’t prevent him rescinding it in the Senate. If you don’t want the NBN, Gonski, Plain Packaging etc etc then vote for the Libs and we won’t prevent any of these programs being wound back. If you want the programs, a real NBN etc you will have to vote to return my govt.

This crap about a double dissolution in 5 months, as if Abbott would be brave enough :rofl
