Fairfield looks OK to me, at an average of about $275 a week. Same for Penrith and 'round that are similar for a one bedroom flat. Of course, if you're willing to share, you can go larger. Not everybody is looking for a 4 bedroom flat in Mosman, you realise?

However, I am not overly interested in proving you wrong. It is up to you to prove yourself right. At the moment there is little evidence of what you're claiming. Tut, tut.

If $450 a week for a 1BR flat is cheap you've got too much money.
If Fairfield "looks OK" to you, you've never been there ... it's a slum.
Penrith is so far from Sydney (2 hour drive) it never used to be considered part of Sydney ... so you might as well live up the sticks like I do.
Penrith, which is basicly at the foot of the Blue Mountains, it stinking hot in summer and bitterly cold in winter ... the only thing Penrith's got going for it is a big fancy Leagues club (Panthers)
I went to a bike show (put on by Bikers Ltd) at Penrith showgrounds years ago. I followed another bloke through places I don't know (like Weatherill Park) to get there. When I left by myself I followed signs leading what was said to be an "expressway".
About half way back to Bankstown area were toll booths ... it's not an expressway, it's a toll-way.
So if you live in Penrith but work closer to Sydney you got to fork out to get there, and home again.
I had $5000 in my pocket but no change. The neon sign's flashing "$4" "$4" "$4" and the booths are un-maned.
Fortunately I hat flat/drag bars (low) to just ducked down and rode under the boom gate.

IDENTITY POLITICS? You'd be all for that of course unlike me you have a great tendency to talk in colours or divided groups within the Australian society don't you. When you are not ignoring those differences that cause social disharmony of course.

I support most of Pauline's policies, but this proposal of hers only adds to my assessment that she lacks judgment when it comes to self-promotion. This is infantile and lowers opposition to 'identity politics' to the level of those who practice it.

Personally I think whoever decided on this tactic is a fool and lacks political judgement. But PHON has always had problems in that area. Not helped by fools and liars like yourself of course. Also not helped by Hanson's usual inability to clearly articulate an argument.
