I presume that Trump beat Sanders?
NOBODY wants another Clinton in the Round Office.
American politics leaves me for dead. I have enough trouble working our system out.

Re: US Presidential race
Hillary didn't do so well.
Typical leftie prog.
Sanders had 60 per cent of the vote based on 66 per cent of the vote, ahead of former Secretary of State Clinton, who had 38 per cent.
Clinton had for months been the front-runner nationally. But a Reuters/Ipsos poll done Feb 2-5 showed Clinton and Sanders now in a dead heat.
Clinton, 68, congratulated Sanders, 74, in a speech to supporters. She defended her progressive stances and vowed to be the candidate who fixes problems and not just state them.
She appealed to African-American and Latino voters and acknowledged she had work to do winning over young voters.
Typical leftie prog.

Ummm Sanders bats for the other side. Sanders is a Democrat, he beat Hillary and I think the office is oval.Neferti~ wrote:I presume that Trump beat Sanders?

Oh, I got that Sanders was a Democrat (i.e. Leftard in our terminology). For some reason I got the "Knights of the round table" and the POTUS "oval" office mixed up.Black Orchid wrote:Ummm Sanders bats for the other side. I just don't know the candidates. I only know Trump and Hilary over the years.
It's amazing the world watches these elections because they have such an influence on the world. if we get an idiot in the oval office.... should make the world interesting.

According to the Republicans there is already an idiot in the "oval office" ..... and the American public voted for him to get 8 years there.Super Nova wrote:I just don't know the candidates. I only know Trump and Hilary over the years.

(Bloomberg) - Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders defeated Hillary Clinton in the New Hampshire Democratic primary, while real-estate mogul Donald Trump prevailed over a crowded Republican field with Ohio Governor John Kasich finishing second.
Voters in both parties on Tuesday sent a rebuke to establishment presidential candidates by embracing Trump and Sanders - a billionaire and a Democratic socialist - who both spoke to voter anger and anxiety about rising income inequality and a gridlocked Washington.

What can stop Trump now but himself? It would have to be a hugely embarrassing gaffe because his supporters don't care. Like he said, he could shoot someone and his supporters would be just fine with it. Next stop South Carolina, birthplace of the Confederacy, a place full of loonies. I suspect that Trump's enemies in the Republican Party are working to trip him up and if they are they have their work cut out for them.

How can you trip someone up who has not hidden anything about what he thinks. he is what he is approach is hard to destroy. What can you call him that hasn't been done.
I think he is in with a big chance.

Re: US Presidential race
^^ A man like Trump has to have secrets. and we can be sure plenty of people are digging fast and furious to find them. Back in the 1980's there was a rising Democratic politician named Gary Hart who had a girlfriend on the sly. Gary Hart was also Senator Hart who made no secret that if he were elected president he would investigate the CIA for something or the other. At the time journalists wondered who tipped off the media that Hart had a girlfriend and destroyed his career. Today the consensus is the CIA did.
And just a few years ago there was another rising Democratic star named Eliot Spitzer. It was thought he also had a solid chance at the presidency and at the time of his downfall he was Attorney General of New York State and was going after corruption on Wall Street. This man visited a high-end prostitute, very discretely. His enemies on Wall Street found out and tipped off the media. Career over!
John Edwards. Remember him? Another young rising politician caught with another woman. And he was considered as clean as they come.
Is Trump so dirty no one can touch him?
