What utter, partisan, uninformed dribble is that?

The stimulus was all worked out withTreasury, Dept Finance, Reserve Bank and whoever else needed to be properly consulted. The speed and targetting and size of the stimulus, text book stuff BTW, economics students will be studying the Australian govt’s response to the GFC for a hundred years.

Who was it said: go early, go hard, go households? that was Ken Henry, Secy of the Treasury.

Keynesian economics will always have SOME role in macro economic mgt.

But all this is 1st yr economics stuff. In fact, after having opened and read the link provided in the OP, I was reminded of the typical economics essays we used to submit back at Uni.

Ho hum ..

Well .. I mean it's like I am reading a 1st or 2nd yr University economics essay.

Is Swan completing a degree of some sort at present? Anyone know?

I'm only asking because back when Paul Keating was 1st appointed Treasurer.. this is what he used to do. At that time, he was completing his Economics degree part time and he used to stand in Parliament and rehash all his lecture and tut notes in his speeches.

Twas funny to listen to (as a student).

Before some people start posting about an issue or topic then they should read up on the subject, especially our prime ministers.
Here is an interesting start
http://primeministers.naa.gov.au/primem ... ffice.aspx

To suggest that Paul Keating has tertiary qualifications would assist if they would include details as to where they obtained their qualifications from.

Keating studied ( quietly ) .. and it was a big joke at the time coz he was rehashing his lecture and tut notes in his Parliament speeches.

Later on when I went to Sydney Uni with one of his daughters .. again this was "discussed" in a few Politics tuts .. and she was there FFS!

Oh and my tutor at the time was John Howards brother lol :)

I don't think people realise that not everything in life is "googleable"

Our past Prime Minister Paul Keating had no tertiary qualifications as he was not interested in academic achievements.
Keating did not attend any tertiary education institution for studying.
