Spying condoned by Rudd and Labour not need be apologised for, only the media for bringing it to public attention! That's the way to gain Indonesia's trust!

"'I want to express here in this chamber, my deep and sincere regret about the embarrassment to the president and to Indonesia that's been caused by recent media reporting"'

The ABC is in terror as the salaries of the people who are OUR SERVANTS and get their money from OUR TAXPAYERS, has been released. LOL

I really hope that Tony Abbott privatises the ABC.
Maybe we should be comparing their wages to those in the private sector. Alan Jones is getting paid $1 million plus p.a. and he's only on air for approx. 15 hours a week. Obviously this confidential information has been released without permission possibly because there are plans down the track to sell the ABC off.
Our taxes pay the ABC salaries. The private sector can do what they like. We don't pay for them.

The so-called wages confidential information was released after the ABC (and Fairfax) had sat on the so-called spying on Indonesia information for 5 months before it was released. The ABC decided to start a fire about AbbottAbbottAbbott (who had NOTHING to do with the spying) and "someone" retaliated with the salaries list (also known and held for the right time). Stiff. Shit. I think it is funny. Then I have a warped sense of humour.

PS. I don't have a radio and have never heard Alan Jones' talk back or whatever it is.

Exactly. The Media is to blame for even bringing this up. Then, there is an Election coming up in Indonesia so that lot are using everything they can find as well.

Your answer only supplies why Australia should protect its own borders.
Name calling only serves to emphasise your lack of intelligence.
Well don't you take the cake for idiocy...

No one's asking them to protect out borders you fool.
But we do expect them not to act criminally against us and respect our sovereignty as we are expected by them, to do for them.
THIS^^

The Oz navy "rescue" a boat in Indonesian waters and the Indons refuse to deal with the problem of looking after these illegals. That's your definition of "Australia wanting Indonesia protecting its borders"? You idiot. No wonder people are calling you names.

I suppose next you want the Oz navy to be charged with piracy for rescuing these boat boarding queue jumpers?

Indonesia always goes on the RESCUE for people from any any boat in trouble in Indonesia's patrol zone.

Unlike Australia which enters the Indonesian patrol area to pick up those people who phone in the address they require picking up from. No rescue involved just a Taxi service.

Question. Why was it necessary for Rudd and Labour to tap the Indonesian Presidents wife's phone. Is Abbotts missus phone being tapped, can we expect Abbott not to give a rats arse if it is? Abbott expects just that from the President of Indonesia when his wife's phone is tapped!

Good point. Those on the boat in trouble call their friends or relatives in Australia who make an emergency call to Christmas Island for an urgent rescue. We can't ignore it. This was on some documentary the other night, but we don't hear this side of the story very often - only the fact that Australia has to rescue people in the Indonesian patrol area indicating that Indonesia is slack and won't go to their aid.

Maybe...
The Australian Federal Police has confirmed it has collected phone and internet data on up to four federal MPs.

Australia's relationship with Indonesia is in crisis after it was revealed Australian spies tried to tap president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's phone.

But on Monday night, while reporters were diverted by news about the allegations regarding Indonesia, the AFP was being grilled in Senate Estimates.

In a lengthy exchange on the collection of metadata, Senator Nick Xenophon asked AFP Chief Commissioner Tony Negus how many members of parliament had been the subject of authorisation orders allowing the AFP to track their phone calls and email traffic.

The somewhat surprising answer was "less than five".
"But you will run your fluffy bunny mouth at me. And I will take it, to play poker."

Less than five is certainly a curious answer. Zero is less than five, one is less than five and one now is facing criminal prosecution over Coal mining dealings. This allows a maximum of three more! Makes one wonder if Greg Hunt, Tony Abbott and Kevin Rudd make up that other three?

Abbott said he wasn't apologizing. Can't recall him saying he didn't give a rat's.

And yes, if I was spying on Australia then I would most certainly be trying to hack the Big Cheese's wife's mobile phone.

Doubly triply so if I was spying on Indonesia, what, with all the family nepotism guiding so many political decisions, and Emperor's Court arrogance that a lot of Asian leaders foolishly display in this information age.

Even with the SCANDAL re: USA govt phone tapping of French and German leaders.... when the Frogs and Krauts were complaining and beating their chests.... I swear I could tell there was a resigned "meh, you get that" and even "well played, USA" sort of feeling bubbling under the surface.

FARK THE INDONS. GO AUSTRALIA!
