In 2007 Thérèse Rein saw fit to close her company Igneus's Australian operations as her husband Kevin Rudd stood poised to win government. A conflict of interest apparently.
Now...
Rein's thriving job placement company has re-established a presence in the Australian market 3 1/2 years after closing its local operations.
No longer a conflict of interest apparently.

If only you could reign yourself in to just comment on reality.

Kevin was a backbencher when Igneous was founded.
My thoughts? Scrap the Jobs Network and bring back the CES. As an employer I can tell you the CES was good value, the Jobs Network was total rubbish.

Kevin Rudd cut his political teeth as Goss's Chief of Staff in 1988, the same year his wife founded Thérèse Rein and Associates, later Ingeus. Prior to this, in 1986 Rein worked part-time as a rehabilitation counsellor.

A little trip down memory lane for those of you who continue grumbling about Abbotts policy costings.
Recall Rudd and his 2007 failure to submit his by the cut-off-date?
There are three more working days before the election to be held this Saturday and it is plain that Labor has now engaged in an elaborate ruse to prevent its policies being properly costed. The cut-off date for Labor’s policies to be put in for costing was Thursday of last week. They did not put their policies in by the cut-off date and they have still not submitted all of their costings, knowing that the Secretaries of the Treasury Department and the Department of Finance said that the cut-off date was Thursday and they could not guarantee costing unless all of those policies were put in last Thursday. They deliberately withheld them so there could not be scrutiny. And even if they were to put them in today, it could not be guaranteed that there would be any costing before Saturday and any such costing that comes on the eve of the election, of course, would not be of any use in submitting Labor to scrutiny.

Acceptable for Rudd, but not Abbott?
Furthermore....
Shadow treasurer Joe Hockey says the costings of a large number of the coalition's policies are still to be finalised because the federal government's numbers kept changing.
The coalition had submitted about 200 policies to the Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO) for assessment before the election date was announced.
Mr Hockey now says the PBO is re-costing them to take into account the numbers in government's August 2 economic update statement and August 13 Pre-election Economic and Fiscal Outlook.

This sounds reasonable enough.

I cant wait to see what the Greens loony fringe policies entail... killing-off what’s left of our mining industry and driving a stake further into the hearts of our already suicidal farmers no doubt?

Kevin Rudd was widely known in Qld political circles as
Dr Death.
I'm pretty sure we all have a fair idea why.
