During 2011-12, while 12,967 people were TAKEN into immigration detention, 19,370 people were HELD in immigration detention during 2011-12.

Out of the 19,370 detained people, 14,438 (or 74.5 per cent) were asylum seekers who arrived in Australia by boat, unlawfully, at an excised offshore place.

If there are any illegal immigrants that have arrived by plane, they got here with visas and passports and identification...they get sent back when they get caught and cannot get medical, social security or any other public taxpayer funds.

"Your" illegal immigrants, the ones you bend over backwards to defend while they fuck you in the arse so you end up looking like a giant human fucking pretzel- do not get sent back. They pay smugglers to get them here, throw away identification and make up a story so they can get citizenship and receive free money.

They know this because they get phone calls and visits from other illegal immigrants who tell them "you should come here, you get free money, a nice place to stay with food and everything, then they let you out after a while and give you a free house with Tv! There's a whole bunch of locals who defend us because they are leeches on the public purse too!"

the thing is that there are asylum seekers before they reach australia. If they do not get accepted as refugees they never get here - they go back. If they are accepted then they are given visas and let in. There are no illegal immigrants that come by boat.

Visa over-stayers on the other hand are quite a problem in australia and there are far more of them than there are of legal asylum seekers.

What bullshit.

If they don't have identification, where do they get sent back to and what govt is going to accept them? That is the real problem here and you are either blind to it or deliberately ignorant.

Once they get here, repatriating them is near on impossible because no other govt wants them because you can't tell conclusively where they are from.

I suggest you pull your head out your arse and realise that this issue IS illegal immigration using genuine refugee allocation to get in the back door. Sobbing that they are accepted as refugees only makes you a useful idiot.
