I thought she was cleared of that charge.

Pauline Hanson posed a risk to the Lib/Nat coalition by potentially fracturing the conservative vote. One Nation was a threat to the Libs not Hanson the Independent. This was actually not the case as the Libs would have done worse in Qld if not for ON preferences etc.

This was done to prevent infiltrators deposing them via branch stacking. This was an erroneous explanation given a few members at a meeting. In fact the quashing of their conviction rested on this belief being factually incorrect.

A registered political party is entitled to funds from the electoral commission if certain criteria are met. Tick.
4% of primary votes gets the electoral candidate's fee rebated/returned, and roughly $2.60 for every federal primary vote and about $1.70 for state primary votes. Tick

I'm not taking sides or getting into disputes regarding ethics or morals, that's just the way I remember the relevant details. mostly right. You seem to remember the state Labor case against them only though.

Only if I am still on the Rolls ... I have lived here at the same address for 25 years and every so often they leave me off the Rolls ..... my vote here doesn't count in ALP Country, so one less for the Liberals isn't life threatening.

Thus, the AEC's decision in June 1999 – that the Australians for Honest Politics trust fund did not constitute an associated entity – was and remains correct.

It doesn't matter. Abbott has been summoned to appear at the Supreme Court in Brisbane which hears civil matters. Although the AEC at the time may have excluded the Honest Politics trust fund from breaking any by-law - it has no jurisdiction over civil matters. Ettridge can still sue him personally and who knows - maybe the Judge or Judges hearing the matter might have some sympathy for Ettridge.
