Equally, I find it troubling that Mantra and Skippy don't deem themselves more deserving of these services than a Tamil Tiger.


It's a lefty thing I think, they are groomed to consider themselves less and less with each new policy.

The hospital waiting lists were the same under the Coalition - possibly worse because there was less federal funding. It will be reduced even further if Abbott gets in because he will immediately start reducing the health and education budget.

Australians are paying off their mortgages faster than they ever have and our economy has an international triple A rating. We have more savings now than we have ever had and super is reasonably healthy. Exports are a big improvement on what they were under the Coalition.

From a moral point of view - our acceptance and care of refugees is what we signed up for in 1948. Like it or not.

The facts are people have less discretionary funds now than ever before due to the high cost of living, instead of buying non-essentials they are now paying down their debts primarily their mortgages. Economists have suggested this is because the government has failed them and they have no confidence in it.
