But.....it does. Or so the Government tells me. It is to keep you safe (and that affects you and me) from me driving while my blood alcohol content is more than 0.05.....a totally arbitrary figure as to whether it keeps you (or me) safe or not. The Government has drawn an arbitrary line in the sand about my social driving behaviour. If Government is going to regulate how pissed or not I can drive publicly, why ought they not regulate what I say publicly.....pissed or not.Rorschach wrote:Your drink driving doesn't affect me one little bit Aussie.

This is a bit different. The above laws are essential to our physical well being, but being kept in the dark about the activities of our government and ministers isn't for our benefit. These reforms are not about ensuring journalists are polite and courteous when they write about political parties, they are going to ensure that information we are entitled to know about is hidden from us.Aussie wrote: But.....it does. It spells political suicide, and smacks of knee-jerk alarmism and media decoy...what we should be doing is asking the new Labor leadership candidates what they think of the new media package, (Shorten, Crean, et al) because by all accounts, they are being rather silent on the issue.
And why is this I wonder?
Because they know Gillard and Conroy are tittering on the edge of self implosion, are on their way out ...and have not a hope in hell of getting this thing passed, least not in it's entirety anyway.

No he's the guy in charge of the relevant portfolio moron!
If they get in he'll be the Minister.
Hence and let me type this slowly for you.... it is his right to speak on it and announce what they will do about it.
